Cafe Ibsen is a lovely little café which turns into an Italian restaurant after 5 pm. The atmosphere inside is like being in the late 19th century with plush and some almost royal furniture and wooden rooms. Upstairs you can sit in a room to yourselves if it's available. The food is also very tasty and elegant Italian food, and... More

A cafe for breakfast or lunch. Been known as the most charming cafe in Norway. Home made food and very good cakes.

First of all, it is not very common to enter such a small sleepy southern town in Norway and find out from Tripadvisor that there are over 30 restaurants within walking range of the hotel and over half of them are still open after 8pm. Usually, you're in luck if even a couple is open in the midst of September,... More

I only had a drink here so can't comment on the food but the decor is lovely including the roof terrace. The tables and chairs are reminiscent of the 30s

It is the old house across the alley from Ibsen Museum, it has some light meals and home made olive oil and vinegar for sell. The Greek salad and the mango salad dressing is the highlight. The quiche is a bit too soft but tasted not bad. It is a good place to hangout or have a party.

A group of three families (13 people) came to eat, had to wait a while for table (which was ok since we didn't have a reservation), but when we came in they expected us to be seated in two different rooms and at three different tables, even though a large table with room for 10 was free, which we in... Almost next to the Ibsen Museum lies this little pearl of a cafe. Yummy, fun and affordable - set in the living rooms of 1880s this cafe is a wonderful place to take tea!

Interesting place, you can feel the history, and with a little imagination see Henrik Ibsen in action in the small rooms and hallways. A variety of homemade delicious food nicely balanced with salads and nutritions.
