After walking round the breathtaking Fosso Bianco we were starving and decided to go this Osteria as it was top on tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. The staff were delightful although they don't speak English. I had no idea what the specials were but just ordered anyway and I had amazingly well cooked pasta (definitely not overlooked mine was... We where invited to go to San Filippo with two of our Italian friends and their families on a warm Sunday in July. After a couple of hours drive, we finally arrived in this very small village. Our friends wanted to have some lunch before bathing in the hot springs, so we looked around and found this Osteria. It was... More

Even if I read good reviews on trip advisor, and also the locals here in San Filippo suggested me to try the restaurant I was really disappointed about it. The place looks really like a nice Osteria with a lovely interior and cosy feeling. But that day a group of people were working intensively just in front of the terrace,... More

I went to this restaurant for dinner as I read many positive comments on Tripadvisor. Unfortunately, that was nothing like the comments. It made me confirmed that many people do not know the true quality of food. Anyway, it was shock to me to have a famous Chianina beef steak cooked in high-tech oven and the result was terrifying. If... More

Start at 1pm and finish at 4pm delighted with great food and and the house wine which is better than many known labels. The menu is not ordinary and deserves to be explored in more than one occasion. The portions are generous so you definitely need review ore than once to try it all. Appetizers, first and second course. Vino... More

After 3 hours of dining, an overall great experience, service, food & atmosphere combined..........when we were leaving, we were at the front door the owner insisted we stay & have a complimentary glass of his home made lemoncello with his secret ingredient, infused with basil leaves, well not so secret anymore!! If you are in Tuscany, make the time to... More

25 mins north of Acquapendente The Cassia (SS 2) you will find a turn-off to the small Tuscan village of Bagni San Filippo. At the foot of Mt Amiata, this village has some very interesting and inexpensive (indeed free if you like) thermal baths. It also has what is probably my favorite osteria in Italy! Enter Osteria Lo Spugnone and... More
