Our first visit to Acharavi the taxi driver recommended the oldest restaurant in town The Pumphouse so we tried it on our first night.
The two brothers who run it are welcoming and friendly, providing excellent service and at this time wore masks the whole time they were in the restaurant. Safely distanced tables too, though it was end of season so fairly quiet.
I had pork souvlaki; at €8.20 I expected a small plate but received a decent meal and it was flavourful, well presented and cooked. Another evening I tried the chicken souvlaki also delicious. Greek salad and Tzatsiki with gorgeous Greek pita for shared starters.
On subsequent nights my party tried other dishes, all delicious. Stifado especially so.
This restaurant is a treat for the taste buds, their house red wine delicious too and all at a reasonable price. We ate here 4 or 5 times in our fortnights holiday.

Really nice restaurant and food. The lamb I had was perfectly cooked and plentiful and my wife’s steak was beautiful. 1/2 a carafe of wine and two large beers, starters and the main meals only came to 45€.

This is, for sure, one of the best restaurants I have ever been. We went on a week day by 9pm with no reservation, there was a small waiting line and less than 10 minutes we were able to get a table.
The staff is very friendly and efficient, the service is on point and the food is absoluty delicious. A lot of options to choose from, including a lot of vegetarian options.
The prices are very reasonable (we pay 16eur per person and we were on a budget, I thought it was a very good price for the quality of the food and service).
If I ever came back to Acharavi this will be my option to have dinner, for sure!

1st restaurant we visited, big menu, enough options for vegetarians too. Ordered 4 strarters and 1 main, all excellent, especially garlic bread and calamari really well cooked, good seasoning, all fresh. With 2 beers we paid for all of that 40€. Nice service !

Very good restaurant. Nice atmosphere, welcoming staff and ambience.
Had to wait a little to get seated as the restaurant was very busy, ordered starters of cheese pies, fried courgettes followed by fillet steaks accompanied by a bottle of Merlot, everything was delicious and reasonably priced.

We ate here several times during our 2 week holiday this May. To be honest it was by far the best restaurant we found in Acharavi. The sevice was great, unhurried and friendly, the food be it traditional greek dishes or simple salads were always fresh and delicious and as a result was a busy place to be. To top it off it was extremely good value. Would happily recommend.

It may be the oldest, but it certainly wasn't the best. We had a shared starter of mixed fish, which was nice. However, it came out about five minutes after ordering, as did the main about two minutes after our starter plates were cleared, I had the lamb, which was very, very salty, the wife had swordfish which was nice, the plates were taken away mine full up still and not a question asked, then for a reason I don't know I had to go and see the waiter at his till to pay??? With so many good reviews, maybe we were just unlucky, but there is so much choice of good restaurants they may need to be careful

We were out on a Tuesday afternoon and was looking for somewhere to stop for a few beers and as we walked past here we saw a huge sign on the roof THE PUMPHOUSE BAR & RESTAURANT - great… so we went in. There were 1 table of 6 customers in eating and it’s a very large place but we sat down anyway and the young waiter came over and brought us a food menu. So we told him we just wanted the drinks menu please.
He shouted to a man in the back who came over to the table and he said these exact words: ‘go and drink somewhere else, plenty of bars!’ The young waiter looked really embarrassed. I didn’t even respond, we just got up and walked off to the bar further slightly down the main road which was amazing and far nicer people and place.
Although you did us a huge favour in helping us find the bar we ended up in, If you do ever read this Mr Owner, tell your staff to just be nice to customers (or if that was you, you should), we pay yours and your staffs wages and also…remove the word BAR from your huge sign on the top of your building if you angrily don’t want to be one. There are so many lovely places to eat and drink in this area, don’t bother with this one I’m amazed at the reviews it gets. Karen’s Diner at its best.

ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! Delicious food! I had the moussaka and my partner had the meatballs and we were both amazed at how amazing and affordable it is, as we are used to paying for more for food of this standard. It also has a very good atmosphere and was very near our hotel. The staff were nice too and eating here was a pleasure, I wish we had come back to go for a second meal here it was that nice!

Came back to Acharavi after a number of years and brought our granddaughter along. The food is still the best around and meant repeat visits throughout our stay with the family. The same waiters are still serving the best food with impeccable service. What a credit to the area the restaurant is and an absolute joy to return - see you next year!

We are here twice during our stay in Acharavi and both were excellent meals.
The place is mad busy, so the service is slightly on the chaotic side, but all of the waiters are really friendly so I would say it adds to the feel of a busy Taverna. Everything we ate was delicious, the baked Feta with spices was my standout dish of the week - Amazing.
Definitely recommend the Pumphouse for a meal, I think Faros Restaurant shaded it as our favourite place, but this is right up there in the town. It does get really busy, so don't arrive too late in the evening.

We came here based on its location to our lodgings and reviews. We came here hungry after seeing the reviews on portion sizes. We were not disappointed.
A good pace of service, ie Grecian but not forgotten about. Attentive and friendly staff. Good selection of drinks including Weiss beer which we love.
On night 1 we both had the specials. My girlfriend had the chicken and I had the lamb stamnas. When they arrived I immediately had “quantity” envy looking at the chicken opposite me. But how wrong I was. The amount of lamb, lawyered with veg and potatoes was more than enough. My girlfriend’s chicken was equally as tasty and filling with loads of veg and a cheese crust. All told, we left fed, watered and impressed.
We decided to stop in for a lunch bite a couple of days later. Thought we’d keep it simple with a tuna salad for my missus and the pork souvlaki for me. Now, I roast pork all the time at home so know my pork (or like to think so). But this skewer was both plentiful and some of the tenderest pork I’ve had. Well seasoned, with chips and some veg as well, plus pitta. The pork was that good I had to send a compliment back to the kitchen. The simplest of dishes, done so so well.
With limited time left before we leave, I just hope we can swing another meal here.
Get here. You will mot be disappointed.

During our disappointing stay at Mr &Mrs White retreat, we ate at "The Pump House" several times. We had stayed bed and breakfast so ate at many restaurants. The pump house was the best restaurant for flavour good, quality, value and overall enjoyable experience. A close second would be Woody's Restaurant down along the sea front which also gives a stunning view and some cracking sunsets.

The Pumphouse is one of my dearest places in the world. Yiorgos and Spiros make you feel like family and their food is absolutely authentic and delicius.
I stayed this year for 2 weeks and I have only eaten at the Pumphouse! (Btw, I didn’t gain any weight).
Intried almost the entire menu and still cannot decide my favorite dish!

Lovely place - the staff were very friendly. The drinks were nice and the service was good. It got extremely busy and we were there just in time to get a table without booking. I’d say the food was quite average but perhaps it was just what we’d chosen. The baked potatoes I’d chosen (thought it would have been a jacket potatoes -my error) was actually large potato wedges. Unfortunately these weren’t very warm and the veg was just some broccoli.
