We had a lovely meal on the Saturday and Sunday really lovely, and the food was very good. The only blot was on the Sunday night, whilst we eating. There was a fight in the bar, the owner did'nt seem to do anything about it. The barmaid Maddie kept apologising for the fight, as we where having a little quiz... More

My wife and son and I visited for a Saturday early evening meal. The pub was quite busy but the staff were helpful in finding us a table. My wife and I had pies (Steak and Chicken/Ham/Leek) and the portions were good and the food was homemade and fresh. My son had scampi and it was tasty and a generous... More

Waiting staff were not much cop as they didnt know anything about any of the drinks or food. for example "Which... More

We only had drinks in the Bruce Arms. It is a very pleasant pub with a good atmosphere and good beer. However the service was rather poor. My friend bought the first round and when he looked at his pint, which had about 16 fl.ozs. in it with a big head, he asked the barmaid or landlady to 'put a... More

A real pub with excellent quality ale and great value food. The staff are friendly, there's a real fire and Hank the dog ensures everything is in order.

This is the first pub that I have visited in a while that actually does what it says "home cooked food". The food was prepared and cooked on the premises. Very reasonably priced. Tasty and has a score of 5 out of 5 for hygiene (see scores on the doors app). Friendly, clean and service was great. Oh I forgot... More

This is a very busy popular pub with good beer and great food. Beware the portions are large and the staff are happy for you to share. The food is well presented and tastes good and the staff are very efficient and friendly

The Bruce Arms pub sits to the north side of the historic market square in Masham, North Yorkshire, offering real ales and a selection of spirits, lagers and wines along with homemade food. Our huge beer garden has a spectacular outlook over the River Ure and Lower Wensleydale, that’s why we call the Bruce Arms ‘the pub with a view’!We also have a children’s play area within the beer garden, while parts of it can be hired for free for outdoor events such as music concerts, theatre and dance shows.
