We were lucky that we had the possibility to go several times to this bistro. You can choose between different menu's at a reasonable price. Try the excellent "Coquilles St. Jacques" or "Foie gras" (home made) with a good glass of wine! A quiet atmosphere, a nice service and an excellent chef de cuisine: those are the ingredients of a... Happy welcome by friendly member of staff who spoke good English. We started with a Kir Breton whilst making our choices. We chose the menu De La Jour at 16e that had a good selection for each course. The Gratin de Moules were tasty as was the pate. I have had nicer steaks but the sauce was good. The Travers... More

I'm so surprised to see negative reviews of this place! We still talk about how much we loved our time here! We came into Bistro Ernest for dinner one night without a reservation and without speaking very much French. We felt so welcomed and chose a 3-course meal with a bottle of wine. Our waitress was so incredibly kind, patient,... More

Had been looking forward to trying this place out as it looked interesting and inviting from the outside. But sadly for us it fell well below our expectations. The dishes were meanly presented with virtually no 'extras', like veg or garnish. The advertised accompanying salad was minimalist and had no dressing at all. On the positive side the waitress was... I don't understand how a restaurant this bad can survive in a town full of great places. Frozen escargot says it all! Avoid.

Am surprised to see the previous reviews on this restaurant as my husband and I enjoyed our dinner here. We randomly found this restaurant on a Sunday night. We ordered a la carte. Foie gras wonderful. Entrecote perfectly done, unlike many earlier experiences in other restaurants in our travels throughout France. Excellent pepper sauce. Cod was perfect. Great bottle of... This looks good from outside. But it isn't! It is not clean. The chef had two ashtrays piled on top of each other. And smoked in the restaurant. My wife's crevettes were a mixture of dried old from freezer and a couple of recent ones. The lemon tart was truly unpleasant. Burnt on top and raw pastry under. The whole... More

It looks good from the outside. Then it all goes wrong. This is a lesson in how to not run a restaurant. Poor service and an atmosphere like somebody has just died. This is so bad it is no longer funny. One of a few select restaurants we have walked out of. Treguier has lots of bad restaurants and this manages... More

This is a small bistro, just outside the main town square in Treguier. The food is superb and fresh, and the portions are very generous. Wether it is A la Carte or set menu, it is all very tasty and great value for money. Friendly sttaff too, and their English is better than my French.
