This is a beautiful grade 2 listed building with big bedrooms and loads of character. The rooms were clean, we had a friendly welcome and we thought this a great place but breakfast was such a let down and as it was what we did...More

This is my fifth stay at The Moody Goose. Why do I keep coming back? It has to be the welcoming atmosphere, the nothing is too much trouble attitude, combined with that extra unasked for touch, attractive and scrupulously clean room and the outstanding breakfasts....More

The Old Priory was a beautiful old B&B! I loved the wonky, curly stair case and the low exposed beams (although I do always hit my head - without fail!). Breakfast was fantastic. Scrambled eggs were the best I've ever had (who knew they could...More

Very good menu, food was good and in portions size that suited us, not sure it would have been large enough portions for my ravenous grandsons. Varied menu with some nice twists on classics. Very nice quiet and intimate place to spend out anniversary, Wine...More

I had an overnight stay with my 3 children and we really enjoyed our stay! The room was great, really big and very ancient and pretty. The building and gardens are stunning and the owners were very hospitable and friendly. We didn't eat there because...More

'Nouveau cuisine' style, but filling. Bit on the expensive side if you are not a resident, but well worth it. Good wine menu too.

Visited a few weeks ago, on a Saturday night. The food was interesting, beautifully presented and had great flavour combinations. We eat out a lot and its rates as one of the better meals we have had for along time. Would definitely return if ever...More

We booked on a Monday for a family gathering. On arrival we were greeted with good coffee and tea, and rather moor-ish home made biscuits. Ou lunch was outstanding, our party together had several dishes;all were very attractively served, imaginatively cooked and served with an...More

This is a review of two halves. On the positive the food is generally excellent to look at and eat HOWEVER the chef shows a staggering lack of understanding of his ingredients. I am a coeliac (gluten intolerant). It is medical and in no way...More

Description
When The Moody Goose restaurant decamped from Bath to Midsomer Norton a few years ago, it seems half of Bath’s foodies followed. Now settled in the beautiful 12th century Old Priory Hotel, The Moody Goose has a magical English countryside setting. Simply decorated in neutral colours with French watercolours and flagstone floor, the two dining rooms overlook lawns and walled garden where herbs and veg are grown for the kitchen. Chef Stephen Shore uses the best local produce to create impeccable, award-winning cuisine in classic French and modern British traditions. Have a drink on the idyllic terrace or by the huge inglenook fireplace, then enjoy unforgettable food, wine and service.
