I feel so lucky that this place is on my doorstep. The food is great, value for money excellent and the service is second to none. The takeaway service is just as good as the dining in. Definitely one to return to!

This is the best Thai restaurant around, a strange thing to say about a take-away with a little dining room attached but true. Last week I had spare ribs that were succulent and laden with flavour. The chicken with ginger was also a delight, bursting...More

Having always enjoyed their very good takeaway meals, we ventured to eat in their restaurant area on a Saturday evening. Unfortunately it is quite small, and was very crowded with 24 diners, including one large noisy group. There are no soft surfaces to absorb sound,...More

Booked to come here, very small (only 6-8 tables) but the food and service were excellent. We waited a while for our mains but they waitress couldn't apologise enough. The food was very good and reasonably priced

Is the restaurant licensed or do we need to bring our own drink. Do they serve boiled rice with their meals as I do not like bamboo shutes or noodles. Thank you.

I know the staff rely on tips. What currency is best for them and what is the usual amount? If I remember correctly it varies between their job.

Description
Simply Thai is a family-owned restaurant and takaway. It was founded by experienced chef, Jon Singtothong, and his wife, Joy. The couple are originally from Thailand - Jon from the North, just outside Chiang Mai, and Joy from the South, close to Bangkok. They run the restaurant together, often helped by their young son Josh. Jon's passion for food is longstanding and he has developed his art in some of the finest Thai restaurants in the UK, having cooked for celebrities including Brad Pitt, Damon Hill and Robert Redford. He has been personally responsible for cooking every dish that has come out of the kitchen since the restaurant's inception to ensure that consistency of taste and quality are guaranteed. 'Our focus at Simply Thai is on delivering healthy, freshly cooked , honest Thai food that makes people smile. We try really hard to offer something for everyone. Spice averse customers can choose from dishes that have been, or can be, adjusted to better fit Western tastes. For culinary adventurers and foodies, we offer unique Thai Taster nights so that people have the opportunity to learn more about our food and our culture .' - Jon Singtothong
