We went for coffee and cake and TBF the friendly staff served us with nice coffee, green tea and chocolate cake - so all good. We asked for gluten-free cake, and the waitress said she'd check the box. It turned out to be GF, so...we had a slice. It was sweet for us but it was a perfectly nice piece of cake. I'd always prefer a home baked cake when I go out for coffee and cake nowadays, but that's just me. At just under £10 for 2x drinks and a slice of cake, it was reasonable value. I do need to say that the decor was "tired" and the toilet was "exhausted". If you visit, you'll know what I mean. Perhaps it's time to buy a new doormat? But anyway, the breakfasts looked amazing, and there were plenty of customers, so they're definitely catering to a market that appreciates what they do and the lovely ladies who do it. Just needs a few tweaks, IMO.More

Whilst it may lack atmosphere as a venue it more than makes up for with the quality of the food and service

My husband and I enjoyed a homemade burger and delicious chicken curry. If we return to the city we will definitely eat there again.

Called in for a bite to eat and drinks while on a brief visit to Bala. Being mid afternoon we only wanted a sandwich for one of the children and and drinks for the adults, but decided to throw in a side of chips as...shared nibbles. The young staff seated us and took our order, a sandwich arrived with a small portion of chips, after 20 mins we chased the drinks which appeared with an apology. It was only when we paid the bill and questioned if the chips on the side of the side was the chips we ordered they realised theyd forgotten them too and took them off the bill. While we was sat in the cafe the owner went out to get the shopping and walked back through with a couple of bags of McCain Oven Chips from the local co-op. Probably a lucky escape.More

We visited for a lunch without making a booking and were happily surprised at how lovely the food was! I had a lamb burger, my partner had a calzone pizza and children had children's meals - all were good portion size and very much enjoyed...(the chips especially) - would highly recommend!More

We went for dinner and everyone enjoyed what they chose. Staff were friendly, portions very generous and tasty. The setting is more like a cafe than restaurant, but it was busy and had a nice atmosphere.

Home made food? Only if “home made” means taking it out of the freezer and heating it. The staff are friendly and it’s reasonably priced but the food is not very good.

Great busy Italian style cafe in the middle of Bala. We enjoyed pizza, omelette, lasagne and lamb burger. Chips were very tasty too. Great service. Good food
