The fish and chips are very nice, but the staff behind the order need to step up or change the process when ordering, I would suggest a ticket system, if the counter can not remember who's order is who's.

Food absolutely discusting wish i had taken a picture fish tea only thing good was bread snd butter couldn't eat chips as the were so hard
First time customer. Friendly service and excellent quality fish and chips made by young staff. Would definitely recommend if you're visiting Lanark.
I would have rated this place higher, had they not kept us waiting for so long. We went for a take away, but saw how busy the restaurant was and took that as a sign of popularity, which decided us to eat in. Despite the...fact that this isa take out or eat in fish and chip shop with the fryers constantly emptied and refilled, they managed to keep us waiting over 40 minutes after our order had been taken! NO WONDER THE PLACE LOOKS BUSY! I think they do this purposely, there’s certainly no excuse for the tardiness. The cod pieces were quite small but adequate. The batter was very crispy, perhaps a little overcooked for my taste. The chips were ok. All of the food was served piping hot.More
Best fish and chips ever freshly cooked to order . Friendly staff and excellent service . Would highly recommend
*****5 STARS***** Love this chip shop. Super helpful staff who can't do enough for you. I will 100% be back !
My husband and I had afternoon tea. It was great . Loads to eat had to ask for doggy bag for scones and deep fried mats bars.
I ordered a takeaway for delivery. Most of the food was ok but the one thing that ruined it was the pizza crunch! Valerios pizza crunch was always alright in the past however the one I received was dreadful. It was just a big thick...slice of cheap pizza base that was deep fried in batter. No cheese or tomato topping on the pizza, it was literally deep fried bread. That ruined the dinner to be honest. Seems like they’ve opted for the use of cheap nasty products rather than the quality you’d normally expect. The portion sizes were quite bad for the price you pay too. This place has gone downhill and the quality has drastically dropped. The burger on a roll was also terrible, id rather eat a rustler burger that order that again. Tye batter sausage supper was absolutely flawless as always and that went down a treat.More
Possibly the best Sausage Supper I've ever had out of any chippy. Freshly cooked chips that were nice and fluffy, not soggy. Sausage perfectly cooked, batter nice and crispy. Served also immediately, reasonably priced with an adequate portion.
This place is fantastic for good old fish n chips, served by EMMA who's been there only a month she was brilliant very patient and helpful will certainly be back soon👍
Had a fish tea which was very good, decent size piece of fish with crispy batter and a good portion of chips, both cooked fresh, 2 slices of bread and butter and a small pot of tea. Bit pricey at £10.95 but can’t complain as...the quality was good. The service was excellent and the restaurant was clean. The code for the ladies is 1690 which I found childish. If you live in this part off the world then that kind of behaviour tends to alienate a large part of your customers. Would I visit again? no, but that’s not the foods fault.More
Standing in Valarios for over 10 minutes with out a single staff member acknowledging that me and several other people hadn’t Been served in clueing the couple in front! Eventually I had to walk out as it was eating in to my tea break at...work! 🤬More
chips are very good for my lunch; the sausage suppers are very good too and I like their fritter rolls also.
We have been going to Valerio's for 27 years but the quality of the food over the past few months has deteriorated significantly. The fish was well over cooked, the fish cakes were clearly over cooked and were so hard that you could not bite...into them and the chips were dire. We did complain and were told that the fish and fish cakes were on timers and the chips had been in a hot box. Well clearly the timers need adjusting and it is also clear that too many chips had been cooked as what was served to us had either been reheated or been in the hot box for an extraordinary length of time. the whole meal was inedible and we will not be going back which I never thought I would say.More
Firm family favourite, I’d never been before. 2 ordered regular fish and chips 2 ordered special fish and chips. The portions are fantastic, lovely fresh fish. Staff very friendly and happy to help. Can see why it’s a favourite to visit on trips to Lanark
