How is Rustic Rhubarb rated?

I was doing the London Loop and the guide book said that it was worth diverting a bit to see a better view of the Aldenham Reservoir from the dam. Then there was a sign pointing to a cafe and hence here. In a hurry...so a (huge)cup of tea and a BLT doorstep. Great place to take a break from walking.More

Really good food

Exceptional food, really interesting variety on the menu and great bakery options. Don’t let a queue put you off if it’s busy, really food, really good value, really lovely people

Lovely cafe-worth the ridiculous parking fee

We only came here because there’s such a lack of places to eat in the area, but we were pleased we did! It’s family friendly and the food is great, lovely indoor cafe and plenty of space outside-including under cover-too. We enjoyed the avocado on...toast, goats cheese ciabatta and sausage roll, only downside was no all day breakfast! Leaving quite limited vegan options. It was busy on a Tuesday lunchtime in the school holidays and they don’t take bookings but food was still fast and service great :) parking at Aldenham Country Park is absurdly expensive at £4.50, so we won’t be back often but thankfully it was a worthwhile trip.More

Best place to eat within 5 miles

Lovely Gastro cafe. Some indoor seating and lots of outdoor seating protected from the elements under a large tent. Varied menu with lovely breakfast and lunch food. Very friendly service from all the staff. The food is beautifully presented and consistently delicious. Very reasonably priced....No wonder so many people are repeat visitors.More

Delicious food, warm, friendly cafe!

I visited today with my son and husband and I just wanted to message you and let you know the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered chips, a cauliflower salad and my son had a jacket potato. The salad was really divine and I would...come back everyday to have it again and again. We also met Josh, who couldn’t have been more sweet and helpful and overall we just had the loveliest lunch. Like a hug from home

Such a lovely place to have breakfast. I’m from Australia and it’s felt like a huge hug from home. The staff were so friendly in particular shu and Emma who served me. Amazing coffee and food, will be coming back very soon!

My favorite place to eat and treat the dog and family

Excellent food and service.

Excellent staff Good food. Very friendly. The chef cooked a vegan breakfast even after the breakfast time. Will definitely go again.

Gem of a place

An absolute gem of a place. I visit regularly with my dog and we are always made to feel so welcome. The food is always amazing, the service is out of this world and the locality adds to the experience.

Amazing - must go!!

I went to Aldenham country park today with my partner, little boy and my brothers and nephews and just stumbled across this little place as we were starting to feel peckish. We were all literally blown away by the food. It was massively above standard,...presented beautifully and each dish was cooked to perfection. Even the coffee was amazing. I can’t fault anything we had, I had the best hot dog ever!!! the people there are also so so lovely and welcoming and chatty. You’re all doing such a great job and should be proud, well done!!! - will come back just for the food!!More

Fresh, tasty food - lovely cafe owned by lovely people,

Very fresh tasty food, prepared by lovely people. We had lunch on Saturday, and liked Rustic Rhubarb so much returned for breakfast on Sunday. The salads were great, the BLT tasty, and the breakfast, whether traditional or vegan generous in size. You should seek this...place out and visit soon, you will not be disappointed!More

Amazing food, lovely staff!

The food at the Rhubarb Retreat was amazing - the chicken tikka flat bread looked like a work of art, and tasted incredible. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful too. I look forward to going back again!
