Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

3rd time for breakfast abd have to say what a great breakfast it is. Beautiful huge pub, but still has an inviting, cosy feeling. The staff and management were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble,I think the young lady was called leah, she was so...obliging. Really lovely customer service. The food was lovely, fresh and very reasonable. Brilliant location after a walk up the coppice with the dog. Large car park and beer garden, this place deserves all the 5 stars, our teenager says the hash browns are the best 👌. Thankyou and we'll dineMore

Absolutely atrocious! Came in for lunch with my family and while I was there the managers were shouting at members of staff we then witnessed a member crying and not one of them had any empathy for the staff member. The shouting had come from...the kitchen it was that loud we could hear it from the bar area. Our food was OK not the best but what can you expect from a pub. After mentioning this to the landlord he didn't have a slight bit of interest or care about what he had just caused.More

After having this place highly recommended to us we were excited to visit for lunch but never again! There was a large party in who already had their meals and a few other tables occupied. We found a table and went to the bar to...order. We ordered pulled pork sandwich with an extra side of chips and 2 steak salads, 1 to be cooked rare with no dressing and the other med rare with dressing. After approx 40 minutes we asked about our food to be told it was being plated. 5 minutes later the sandwich arrived with 8 chips on the same plate ( chips were £3 as a side) and my salad arrived. The menu described the salad as mixed leaves, tomato, peppers, cucumber , red onion, grated carrot and radish. What came was leaves , tomato with a rare steak with salad dressing. I pointed out to the server who said they had not had a delivery today! Why when he took our order did he not tell us there was no salad stuff so we could choose something else? The tomato slices on my plate were few and far between with 2 of them being end bits with the stalks in. We had paid for the food when ordering so we actually paid for something we did not receive. There was no checking was everything ok as at most establishments when they’ve brought our food and on the way out the server didn’t even look up from talking to other staff. Absolutely no customer service whatsoever and we will not be returning. The pork sandwich was ok.More

Visited with friends, ordered food waited 45 minutes and it still had not arrived. When we asked if there was a problem told by landlord it was just being plated up. Had to wait a further 10 minutes for it to arrive. Two steak salad's...ordered, very disappointed, consisted of mixed leaves, tomatoes and a few strips of carrot (one had no carrot at all). We pointed out to the landlord that the menu stated the salads included, cucumber, red onion, peppers and radish. We were informed that the missing ingredients had not been delivered that day. Basically landlord was not interested, as he walked away we got a mumbled sorry. Our other friend had ordered a sandwich and a portion of chips, her potion consisted of 8 chips. Very, very poor customer service, will not be going back and would not recommendMore

We went in on a Friday evening and as before it was busy with a funeral/wake booking. We were given a high table/chairs near the bar. I ordered our food at the bar. 43 mins later our food arrived. We ate quickly, because we were...starving by this time. It was honestly the driest chicken I have ever eaten. Since it was fine on other occasions I just took it as them having a bad night. As we took our last bite we were asked to leave our table so someone else could sit there! If there was an hour time limit on the table they should have told us when we sat down! If that is their policy they need to get the food out quicker to give customers a chance to eat before being rushed out. We’ve eaten here a few times and it’s been fine, but we won’t be going back again. A shame since it is local to us and we looked forward to being weekly customers.More

Was here for mum in laws funeral. Vanessa & Jamie were the perfect hosts at such a difficult time. The food was excellent and piping hot. The room was warm and inviting. The premises are spotlessly clean which is very important to me. Vanessa &...Jamie and staff went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs . It is also nice to see a pub that is full and friendly these days. Will definitely be back but hopefully not for a funeral next time.More
