Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Following an initial difficulty with booking we went twice in April and am looking forward to further visits. Lovely food in a beautiful and well appointed dining room. Service courteous efficient and friendly. The wine list has interesting offerings.

I went a while ago to this restaurant for lunch. I was very impressed. The food and table service were excellent. I went with a very old friend for a girls' catch up lunch. However my experience today was very different when I tried to...book for a romantic lunch tomorrow. I tried to book online on the website and received a confirmatory e mail to the effect that my booking would be confirmed 'shortly'. I left it for a while and then telephoned and an answerphone replied. I asked for a return call to confirm the booking and when none was received I telephoned again with the same result. I live not too far from the restaurant and considered visiting to check the booking but thankfully I examined the website quite closely and found that the restaurant was closed till 14 January. A very close examination of the site was necessary (and I am used to websites and indeed have my own and know how easily they can be tweaked to change details). I wonder why I was allowed to book through the system and why the answerphone message could not be changed to accommodate an announcement as to when the restaurant would re-open. I wasted quite a lot of time on this which was annoying and though it is excellent in all other respects I have been rather put off. Most of the other establishments of a similar standing were closed but this could be ascertained very easily. On this occassion no score for business acumen!More

We celebrated my parents’ diamond wedding anniversary in the private function room at Haworth Art Gallery with catering provided for by the Gallery Kitchen. Simon (chef) provided an outstanding service both prior to the event and on the day. The room was beautiful, the food...was delicious, the service was fantastic, and the prices very affordable. Thank you so much to Simon and the team for making it a perfect day!More

Having eaten here several times now, I wanted to leave my review. The fact that we're returning diners should give you a clue that we think the whole experience is fantastic. The setting is unparalleled with fabulous views & lovely grounds with which to have...a post-meal stroll. The staff are friendly, helpful & responsive. The food is fabulous! Great tasting, lovely choices. I especially recommend the Sunday Roast & the Wagu Burger - not at the same time of course!! The Gallery is licenced so a pleasant glass of red (or a bottle) is recommended if you're not the designated driver. The portions are good but you need to try & leave space for one of the gorgeous puddings - yummy! The meringue trio or the new addition of the blueberry baked cheesecake are my faves. On our last visit we were delighted to learn that the team are considering introducing a cocktail menu which would be a perfect accompaniment to an already superb drinks list. All in all, Simon and his team are to be congratulated in providing such a relaxing, welcoming setting for enjoying their delicious food & drinks. We'll be back soon!More

We had booked a surprise afternoon tea for some friends. Unfortunately ,at very short notice ,one of our friends was too ill to attend. We had to decide whether to continue or try and rebook as four of us were already at the gallery kitchen....We assumed it would be a real problem for the staff but they were wonderful. They accommodated our dietary requirements and even boxed up the extra portion for our friend who was ill. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was wonderful and the service was exceptional. We have been here before and have always been impressed but today they went above and beyond. All covid safe as well. Highly recommended.More

This superb building also houses the Haworth Art Gallery and boasts spectacular views. We booked for afternoon tea and it didn't disappoint. Really substantial and delicious, the service was quick and very friendly and everything was Covid safe.

Over the last few weeks my wife and I have come to the decision that the Gallery Kitchen is the only place worth going in Accrington. The only disappointment is that the cakes aren't homemade so you can't really do tea and cake.

Do visit to the Haworth Art Gallery and have a meal in the Gallery Kitchen!! The views are stunning and the car park is excellent!! It’s all wheel chair friendly, too. The little shop is good and the Tiffany glass in the Gallery is well...worth a browse. The food offered is excellent and well served!M can’t fault the place for an afternoon trip out!More

We came to treat our son for his gcse results and had a great meal. Joe and Nicola always make us welcome and are attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Abi had the goats cheese and chorizo with a side of Parmesan and truffle fries,...Luke had the macaroni with salmon and prawns, Lou had fish sandwich with hand cut chips and I had the burger with hand cut chips.. all our meals were well presented, hot and very tasty! In fact I would go as far as to say that the burger was the best I have ever tasted, simply delicious. We were all pretty full as the portions are of a good size, but Lou and Luke both decided to have a scone each for dessert which they managed to polish of so must’ve been good! The Gallery is a lovely place to eat and would highly recommend ThanksMore

Good attention to detail (Gluten Free Menu) by Joseph and Nicola. Simon the Chef punches way above any local standards and the food would not be out of place in the very best London has to offer.
