Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Always been delighted with the real coffee in a cafetière and home made scones with clotted cream and jam. I tried a sandwich once, and whilst perfectly acceptable it was really nothing special and perhaps rather expensive for what it was? This visit, I tried...a breakfast. I came away with the same impression - I think they could do a full English for that money, but sadly they don’t do one at any price. Overall, the lovely retro setting and service saved the experience, but it was a lot of money for quite an ordinary breakfast. Again, nothing wrong with it, but the sort of price you would expect to pay in Skipton with a view of the canal, not Shipley with the view of a courtyard. Will definitely return for coffee and cakes / afternoon tea, but the meals don’t seem worth it. My tip for the owner? Offer a Full English including coffee/tea for £9 - 10. Even better, offer kippers? At only around £1 to buy in, there’s lots of money to be made there, and as they are off the menu anywhere in Bradford it could be a great USP!More

An absolute gem of a place. Delicious, fresh, homemade fayre and terrific value. We had the high tea, which included a choice of starters (we had the delicious homemade soup), then a choice of sandwiches (super soft bread and plenty filling) then a scone and...choice of cake. We put our scones (enormous!) straight in a doggy bag so we could focus on the cakes. I had a vanilla slice (also enormous with about 3 inches of creamy filling). My other half had lemon & lime cheesecake. Oh and a huge pot of tea for me and large cafetière for him. £16 each. Incredible value and friendly service too.More

Super , not so little, tea room. 1940’s feel in decor and background music! We were greeted by a lovely lady called Sarah, who showed us to our table. The weather has turned cooler so it was lovely that there was heating on and she...had placed us by a warm radiator which was much appreciated. We both ordered scrambled eggs on toasted tea cakes, with an Earl Grey tea and a breakfast tea. Both served in a large tea pot each plus a jug of extra hot water for top ups. There was very little waiting time between ordering & being served. Initially we were the only patrons as the tea room had just opened but before long quite a few tables were taken. Sarah was perfectly attentive/ not too much and not too little either! All in all a lovely, unusual venue. We will definitely be back with more friends this time too!More

Not first visit but first after covid. Yes clean the place but don't overdo it. It was like sitting in the bathroom. If the kids hadn't wanted to stay I would have walked out. Also bring back the old book style menu instead of an...a4 sheet of paper. Seemed a lot less decor too unfortunately.More

Quite an unusual sort of business for this area - more the sort of thing you expect to find in Skipton or Harrogate rather than Bradford. Made a welcome change from chicken and chips or a Greggs meal deal! I had spent a couple of...hours under the bonnet of my car, so it was nice to be made welcome despite being not exactly smartly dressed I really liked the cakes and getting a big cafetière of coffee with a China cup, lump sugar and a China cup. Would definitely visit again for that. Also had a sandwich - the star attraction there is the homemade bread which is very fresh and tasty. There is also a very crisp and fresh side salad. Would be nice if you could have a few chips with it for a pound extra like many places offer. The building is amazing and far older than it looks. Amazing huge timbering, and the staff (maybe the owner) told me that the roof is made of one big tree with the branches cut off. Can’t really visualise that, but looking at the size of the timbering in the dining room, it can be believed! I appreciate that it’s not cheap to replace such things but the carpet in the hallway is very worn, and the gents leaves a bit to be desired in terms of having a plastic cistern with what appear to be several fag burns. In my personal opinion, replacing both would enhance the place.More

The rest of the menu was tempting but we opted for afternoon tea. We were seated in an attractive and atmospheric 30s/40s/50s themed room. The tea was beautifully presented. The spritzer and sandwiches were delicious and the cheesecake was particularly good, not too sweet. Portions...were so generous we had to take one of the cakes away in a box. The staff were welcoming, attentive and very helpful. This was our first visit, but it won't be our last.More

One of the things I have missed during the pandemic is visiting this lovely vintage-themed tea room. On a recent trip to Yorkshire me and my husband called in to for a cuppa and one of the Interlude's signature scones, with jam and cream. My...husband is clinically extremely vulnerable and this is the first time we have eaten out in over two years. With her typical attention to detail, Sarah had made the necessary adaptations to make her tea room Covid safe, and we felt we could relax and eat in with confidence. We were so glad that the tea room is still open despite the pandemic and we look forward to visiting again.More

I collected an afternoon tea we had pre ordered for our colleagues leaving celebrations. We had a gluten free in our party and I was told that was fab. The food was presented beautifully and tasted just as good. The service was fantastic and very...prompt. I would not hesitate to go back again. Thank you again to the lovely owner who couldn't have done more for us today 😊More

We decided not to go with afternoon tea, we had a sandwich, scone with jam and cream and buckets of tea. Reasonably priced. A real hidden gem

Was taken here for afternoon Tea for my birthday and wow what a hidden delight. Service was excellent even though the lady was on her own. She couldn’t do enough for us. I ordered afternoon tea to be delivered as a surprise birthday gift for a family member. Feedback was fabulous, all beautiful and fresh. The sausage rolls especially were commented on as being "out of this world". Upon ordering, Sarah talked me through the options, and...kept in touch throughout. Highly recommendedMore
