Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent food. We'd been for a chilly walk in the snow and needed warm snack and cake as we had meal planned with friends later. Now we know about Bewicks we definitely need to book for full lunch next time. The festive menu looked fantastic....Food was exceptional and very reasonably priced for the amazing quality and innovative menuMore

Lovely spot, lovely people, lovely food and drinks. Late lunch with my partner and our dogs. Food excellent, service ditto and atmosphere very relaxed. The music is played on vinyl and apparently you can bring your own too!

I often come to Bewicks when i'm feeling like a treat and they never disappoint. Today i took my 91yr old mum and we had an excellent lunch. As usual the staff were very very helpful and made sure we were comfortable. We both had...the Gressingham duck which was cooked to perfection as were the accompanying veg. The Creme brulee was delicious and the cocktails were lovely. Thankyou to the team...we'll definitely be back.More

Bewicks is an amazing and relaxing venue. We popped in for Brunch/breakfast and it’s a fantastic place to eat & drink. The staff are lovely and who can beat a little Billie Holiday playing on the turntable… yes, good old turntable. 😃. Followed by Jack...Johnson. Great place with a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend.More

The waiter told us we only had limited time to order, sorry for thinking the customer comes first…. The coffee was dreadful and we found it overpriced. Would definitely not visit again.

We absolutely loved this place! After searching for somewhere to eat on Trip Advisor and not finding any restaurants, we booked into a local pub for our evening meal. However, during an afternoon walk, we came across Berwicks and popped in for a drink. We...were pleasantly surprised to find the most delightful menu on offer and immediately booked in. What a lovely surprise! The staff could not have been more helpful and were genuinely concerned when we had left overs (the portions are generous and we are both small eaters). This showed us that they care. Both starters and mains were as delicious as they sounded, well cooked, tasty and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Don’t be fooled by the name this is an outstanding restaurant owned by a chef with a Michelin star, and run by family members. Oh and it’s dog friendly! Another plus for us as we were travelling with our dog. Overall a wonderful experience and we would recommend to anyone that appreciates fabulous food.More

Had a decent lunch here in February and had been looking forward to trying breakfast here for many months. Since it is a small venue we booked a table to avoid disappointment. Our table was booked for 10am and we arrived 5 minutes early to...find there wasn’t a soul around. 10am came and still no sign of anyone. We thought since it was a bank holiday Monday that maybe they were closed and they’d took my booking by mistake. We waited around and eventually at 10:15 the owner and a few members of staff rocked up. No apologies from anyone. We were told that the coffee machine takes 10-15 minutes to fire up so they couldn’t offer us a hot drink. We said that was ok but asked if we could take our seat. We were told that we couldn’t because they weren’t ready. We decided to walk away I find it extremely arrogant to treat your customers this way. They knew they had a booking at 10am so why were they not prepared for this? Also 10am is extremely late to open anyway but to still not be ready by this time, absolutely appalling I had been looking forward to dining with them in the coming months but after this scenario I guarantee I won’t be back. Thank you for spoiling my dayMore

The place is cute. Good food and drinks and we also had the most pleasant waitress Joanne. She was so attentive, patient and overall lovely to be served by. What asset to the business she is. Thanks again!

To lunch at Bewick’s you need to like sandwiches! Apart from the a la carte menu, the menu was just sandwiches. I don’t eat bread and although the waitress agreed to make some ingredients into a salad, what arrived was a tiny portion. I was...also surprised that no one cleaned our outdoor table since it was scattered with crumbs and dotted with bird poop. Surely, wiping a table between diners is basic hygiene procedure?More
