Very impressed with the simplicity of the set menu as well as the value. We had a choice of two set menus at €9.50 and €12.50 both with two courses Including a glass of wine or beer. The pigs cheek in red wine was superb. To top it off the view was superb and the friendly service rounded off a... More
Took the drive from Marbella to Istan & walked around the small very typically Spanish town of Istan - there are some lovely mountain views here (& from the bar/restaurant balcony) although we didn't eat a full meal here we enjoyed some tapas & a beer on the balcony - a pleasant experience - others were eating & the food... Whilst I like the attitude involved in bringing this calibre of cuisine to Istan, the menu is too elevated and lacking wide spread appeal. To try to differentiate from the solid existing providers in Istan is commendable but in doing so you need to address the masses. Limiting my choice to steak and my wife's to a risotto is not... More

This restaurante was taken over this Spring by a young couple who know their trade. The quality of the food and the little touches make this a very welcome addition to the small unspoilt white village of Istan. Well priced, interesting menu with no unwelcome cover charge, complimentary starter, home made bread. It stands out from other eateries nearby and... More
We decided to come here for a midweek lunch a few weeks ago. The coast was crowded, but Istan was cool and quiet. A bit too quiet. The restaurant was empty, but they made us very welcome. The chef Jesus Baltasar offered a tasty starter while we sipped our wine and looked at the menu. Wine was good and reasonable,... More
We have visited this restaurant a few times over the past fifteen or so years. It now has new Spanish owners and there is a great improvement from our previous visit a couple of years ago. The food was excellent as was the service. We had a great evening dining al fresco on the balcony. The wine was also superb.... More
Planned to stay in Istan for the night and had hoped this restaurant was OPEN...we were not disappointed. Fabulous meal with a difference...tasty...plentiful...service was excellent. We will return again....please visit this quaint place...it was a perfect nite thanks
Open again under most professional management, we enjoyed a fine dinner there on Sunday. Excellent Mediterranean menu, fine service, upgraded decor and same fantastic country view from dining patio. New Owners from Madrid, Jesus and his wife prepare and serve excellent food most promptly. Upgraded bar area, indoor dining room with warm colors, and modern seating on outdoor terrace with... More
