The dinner was very good. Great quality. The restaurant has a industrial look, refering to the former function of the factory. There was a very friendly service

A quiet prime location by one of the many canals in Leiden, the only noise would be either birds or the clacking of the suspended bridge nearby! The menu has been renewed and very good meat options were included, also a few vegan dishes, for...those who fall for this life choice! Thumbs-up for the beef and lamb, but above all for the fries which accompany every main course!More
Thee selection is really low quality Cheese cake is quite good Diner card has nothing special or attractive. Tomato soap is good and when asked for a pice of good bread it is served within minutes. Why not standard serve the soap with bread? Coasts...almost nothing and adds real value. Background music inside is way to load to be pleasant. Music choice is quite odd and also not pleasant to the ear. Waiter just forgets my order and I have to wait more than 20 minutes till he remembers I ordered a thee. He did apologise for having forgotten, but didn't offer something extra, an extra cookie would have been nice and very welcoming. Staff is stiff and not welcoming to customers and think they can boss around customers in an impolite way if asked for a favour. So this is not a welcoming place, due of bad staffing. And why not let guest use the theehouse when really nobody and no groups are there, the whole afternoon???? It's a lovely place but "NO only for groups, no exceptions" That is just lazy and a sign of bad hospitality. I was scouting out this place to look if it would be a good place to dine with my grillfriend but I didn't feel very welcome at this place. So they lost me as a dinner customer and reading the reviews I am not alone. The many empty tables around dinnertime attest to that fact. Only have seen one or two couples having dinner. So be warend, when you have plans to dine over here. I do love the interior and the exterior garden. It's a pity that the horrible staffing is running this place into the ground. Conclusion Mediocre at best, thee menu is poor, cheese cake and soap are quite good. Unfortunately the staff has no idea about caring for there customers. (Who do they think pays there salary?) This joint is a kind of OK for a quick coffee (but avoid the thee) and a soap or cheesecake, but that's really it. Kitchen is probably OK, but staff is really poor and music is way to load for diner. This place really needs a staff that has clue about how to connect to customers on a friendly open and welcoming way.More
Visited with friends after a day out on a little boat on the Leyden canals. We had made a reservation. Place looked interesting, typical old industrial place restored in half hip, half arty fashion. There was a party for someone who celebrated a birthday. Whether...this overwhelmed them I do not know, but service was not professional.... after a long wait it turned out our order had been forgotten! Maybe it was the first day for the person taking the order? She seemed ill at ease. Can happen, one of the more professional waiters came over to sort that out (but, we were now without food for over an hour..) and offer us our wine for free as compensation. Good. Alas, wen the order did show up some dishes were mixed up with another table. Oh dear. By now we were not in the mood any more. The good point - most of the dishes were done well or very well. Some of the asparagus could have been cooked just a little longer, but the meats and the other vegetables were quite good. Some other things: the menu is limited but what they do, they do ok as far as we can tell, they do vegan etc if desired, also quite well. The mise sends mixed signals.... cutlery in a little metal bucket, but fortunately the do offer real napkins. Price level would suggest a somewhat more formal table setting. All in all - has potential but needs to professionalize the staff.More
Came here for the first time with a good friend. The weather was beautiful and the place is perfect to dine outside. Service was good. The food was good too but I would have expected more for the price I had to pay. I do...advise everybody to try it out. It is worthwhile and I will certainly come back once.More
We had Diner with international friends and enjoyed the stay there. We had also preordered meals and it was good.
Nice place, good beer on the tap, service a tad slow on that particular day. Reasonable price for a reasonable portion . Had tasty hot sandwiches with fresh salad.
High tea with 12: poorly managed and very disappointing quality of food. Prosecco was served within minutes after arrival, not surprising at cost of 5€ per 50ml at the center of the business model. Followed by mustard soup served at ambient temperature after 45 minutes....Big chunks of bread with tasteless egg salad, hardly what is expected for high tea. Salmon sandwich was replaced by chicken salad on similar chunks of bread. Two tastes of quiches were condensed into one taste. Logistics to provide sufficient hot water turned out to be a bottleneck. Finally sweet dishes (plural) was one dish: petit fours. Tasteless plain sweet greasy substances. All was served for 24,95€ per person. Nothing positive? we enjoyed each others company on a sunny terras. This is clearly a restaurant in a down going spiral, make as much money as possible, file for bankrupsy and then start again.More
On location again and a friend of mine invited me to visit this extraordinairy location. Situated near a river with the setting sun in the background I had the mustardsoup with big slices of bread. A few glasses of, you guessed it, red wine made...my dinner complete. A real gem hidden away in the countrysideMore
Perfect place with courtyard. Tasteful kids menu. The waiters are very friendly and helpful! I totally recommend it.
Nice restaurant with a lovely vegetable garden. The terrace is a great place to be during warmer days and is equiped with some big lounge sofas. Waitora are friendly and helpful and the food is simply great.
Beautifully restored place, atmospheric and with a beautiful garden in summer. The staff is most friendly, the house wines are good (three white ones are served per glass, the Chardonnay was tasty). I had the tuna as a starter, which was very tasteful and the...sea bass as main course, which was good and well-prepared, although I felt the vegetables to go with it were a bit dull (the home made fries to go with it were very good though). Perfect espresso.More
Located in an old - modernized - flour factory at the outskirts of town this restaurant is not easy to reach if you are not a local (and have access to transportation). But if you get there, prepare for a good meal at a unique...location. Most of their food and ingredients comes from local farmers and producers (as much as can be, really). So the meat comes from local companies, the vegetables, cheeses and beers from local producers: an excellent way to taste the local products, and support the local farmers. And I must say, the cooking is excellent: not fine cuisine. But simple, honoust dishes, with fresh ingredients and created/cooked with care and love for the ingredients. The staff is friendly and helpful. If the weather is good, sit outside: there is green, a garden full of herbs, a shed where kids can play. Apparently they also organize cooking classes, and a breakfast, but I haven't been to either of those.More
Being participant of a cooking workshop , I did appreciate the great help for preparing Cantuccini. With a group of 25 people we did prepare 13 different dishes and the quality was surprisingly good. The kitchen was perfectly suited for the workshop and the personel...was of great help. It was even possible to prepare italian ice! For team building this is a great place.More
We enjoyed a rich and healthy breakfast in their sunny garden. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would like to have breakfast here every Sunday.
