Busy pub with good atmosphere. Drinks at the bar were served in appropriate glasses, i.e. good heavy glass for g & t. Food of good standard and staff helpful. Lovely log fire and cosy seating. I have been here in the summer also where dining outside is very enjoyable.

Called in to the Vineyard for Sunday lunch as we were visiting Scotney castle nearby. Booked a table online a week ahead which was just as well as they were really busy and may not have fitted us in if we just turned up! I had roast turkey as did my dad. My wife had fillet steak. All of our... More

Cannot recommend this restaurant more highly. Food & service both at a very high level and the atmosphere and friendliness of staff brilliant. They did not rush us, they allowed us to eat at our leisure. Totally and utterly impressive.

We went there for a lunch on Sunday, food was very average and what we really didn't like it wasn't very hot. Service was ok. It all didn't live to our expectations.

Very disappointing for over £20 a miniscule piece of overcooked turbot, 2 prawns and some reheated purple potatoes. Extremely noisy too. Staff attentive although did not respond to my comments on the potatoes. Friends shared a Chateaubriand which arrived cut up which I have never seen anywhere else. So sad this pub has perhaps changed hands as the relaxed atmosphere... More

Our son booked a table at The Vineyard for a late Sayurday lunchtime. We were welcomed and shown to our table, and well looked after from beginning to end. The menus was good - we shared a starter and all enjoyed main courses. The burger was particularly good and Tom's game pie looked excellent. No room for puddings...

We chose the Vineyard for dinner on a Friday night. The food was fantastic with great service. Seems very popular but thankfully plenty of parking, and although busy there's lots of space. Look forward to returning in the future.

Ate here Sunday 30th, six adults and four children including two, two year olds. Food was very good as was the atmosphere. Staff were very efficient and helpful too especially indulgent of the two toddlers who were moving around a bit! Had the large round table in the otherwise empty dining room which was good! I have a weakness for... More

Very disappointing meal. Raw gristly pork served on a platter with greasy chipolatas coveredin sickly sauce, King prawns in their shells which when opened were full of black mush and soft floury flesh, The waiter replaced the pork with extra deep fried squid but this was badly cooked, pale, stringy and greasy. The only edible part of the meal was... More

Really nice place to go to any time and day. Staff couldn't do enough for you, wifi stopped working and managed to fix it within five minutes. Food is presented beautifully and tastes fab.
