A good experience. Only sadness was they had under-estimated the popularity of the Greek Salad and it ran our before midday. Some of the tables could do with a clean. Old bird droppings made two tables unusable.

Set in the native bush this is a welcome site for all Abel Tasman walkers. This place offers food unfortunately at higher price than available in the cities. Ambiance and position make this a must do. Summer months are best because access is only by boat or on foot.

The restaurant in Peppers Awaroa Lodge is good & admirable in using veg grown in-house & other foods sourced locally, but perhaps the dishes are trying TOO hard to be interesting. I had fresh fish withe stir-fry veg plus carrots & sweet potato purée, these 2 were just too sweet together for my palate. Wines are great, service was excellent,... More

The cafe had great food, sandwiches and slices, packaged so you could take them on your walk or eat in. We bought lunch here and had some good coffee too! Didn't try the restaurant but can highly recommend the cafe and the pizzas down at the bar a minutes walk away.

A wide range of food is on offer in the cafe - we ate there 3 days running and enjoyed each meal. The restaurant food is absolutely superb and cannot be faulted.

This review is just of the café and bar as I was staying at Awaroa Hut. This place is amazing! Can't believe it is in the middle of Abel Tasman NP! If you are passing by or staying at Awaroa Hut, make sure you pop by for a drink or a snack or even dinner! The lodge bar is extremely... More

$35 a main for a tiny portion of bland food. Service good, location great but shame about the food. Its a remote location so difficult to get fresh food there maybe, but surely they could do better than a smear of pumpkin and three small bits of not very fresh white fish and a tiny bit of bok choy. Why... More

Blown away by the wonderful food, wine and service in the restaurant but soooooo disappointed in the state of the rooms. Whilst the rooms are a little 'tired' and need of a facelift, I appreciate that the location makes some things difficult to maintain but it wasn't this. The room was actually quite dirty. Dust half an inch thick on... More

Stopped in while staying at the DOC Awaroa Hut. Food selection not the greatest, but the setting and the bar more than made up for it. Good range of drinks at better prices than expected given the location and a great outdoor seating area.

Wonderfully cold craft beer and melt in your mouth pastries in an idyllic forest setting. Staff were fabulous. Alfresco dining setting stylish and comfortable. A national park oasis. Loved every minute 👍
