This is a gastro pub where we have eaten many times. Sadly the food was very disappointing this time. My chicken pie seemed to consist almost entirely of stodgy pastry with a meagre amount of chicken inside. Combined with ‘fat’ chips which weren’t quite fully...More

Delicious food, beautiful interior, incredible gin selection. I went on a 4 mile walk with my boyfriend and dogs and it couldn’t have ended better than having lunch here. We had the bread board with red pepper hummus and chorizo to start which was so...More

Good atmosphere, friendly staff. Views of Castle Hill if you eat or drink outside at the tables at the back. Good walk to Castle Hill, or part way there if time is short, through woods and fields. Food is of a good standard.

Excellent food and really good value. The two main meals offer for £13 is on during weekday. The Portuguese stew was lovely, full of fish, very tasty. The service was excellent, all the staff very polite and friendly. Will definitely return.

Our first visit here and we were really pleased. The restaurant ambiance is great and the seating gives you space and privacy. The servings were large and great value. Will definitely visit again.
