We visited here in early March and it was very quiet at first, but then it usually is in Italian restaurants until at least 9pm. A nice atmosphere although the approach from the main street is less than ideal, past some scruffy publc loos! However the lady owner explained the menu (English translations were due the following day) and between... More

Thoroughly enjoyed the food here and the surroundings were very pleasant. Would have said that it was a tad pricey, but to be honest, in our experience, there is no such thing as a ' cheap ' meal in Scicly - apart from some street food. However, as the food is good, it's less of an issue.

We had heard about Al Galu from friends and decided to drive over to Scicli for dinner. It was well worth the trip. The husband and wife team design an interesting menu using local ingredients which celebrate Sicilian cuisine. The wine list is varied and well priced. We served home-made rolls and grissini. We could only manage to eat the... More

Recommended by hotel, and very happy we took advice. Young husband (chef) and wife (front of house) team, established Five years. Very stylish space and great crockery and glassware. Pre dinner bread choices to die for. English menu available and wife (Gabriella) speaks good english. Made the experience more enjoyable i must say - but this restaurant is about modern... More

We had grilled octopus and caponada with prawns to start. Octopus was rather tough to chew, at least sauce was nice. Prawns and caponada nothing special. We continued with pasta with octopus ragu which was rather boring and served not warm enough. The worst was sirloin steak which was definitely the worst I have eaten in last year. In addition... While doing some reach on a Sicilian tour we had an enjoyable dinner here. The dinner started with an assortment of seafood, each prepared very well. Our pasta dishes had lots of wonderful flavor and the local white wine was a crisp and refreshing compliment on a hot summer night. I'd rate them excellent if it wasn't for the service... More

A quiet place to eat . Good food, not quite the normal stuff, and at reasonable prices. Depending on the season booking in advance could be required.

I have been travel in Sicily to explore the cuisine and this place is the reason why I visit Scicli. I thought I could never make it because in Aug they are open only for dinner which would make me late for the last train. However Luca was kind enough to let me try his creation before the open time,... More

Probably we were influenced by the very good ranking of this restaurant in Scicli, but I am sorry to say that it is not what one could think it is. Service is average , in food there is some imagination but nothing special. The place is nicer than expected and the night we stayed there were many families with kids... More
