Our party of 15 were let down by another restaurant on the other side of Truro with only 2 hours notice to find somewhere else to dine for my dad and nanny's birthday. We rang Heron Inn thinking we had very slim chances of getting a booking with so many people and such short notice. However, Heron Inn were very... More

Visited on Saturday evening, pub was relatively quiet. Staff were very welcoming and very helpful. I had the Belly Pork my partner had the Sweet potato and chickpea curry. I must say this Belly Pork meal is up there with the very best I've ever had. Chick pea curry was lovely also. The Heron inn was in decline last year... More

What an amazing location and the food was very good when it arrived. Would have been 5 stars but for a long wait at bar and for food, due to being short staffed - having been caught out by unexpected sunny day. Will return in spring to enjoy the view.

We have been here every month for the last year as we won a prize to do so and what a wonderful prize it was. Every month for the last 12 we have enjoyed fantastic food and a incredibly warm welcome. We think we have worked our way through the menu and love all of it. The fish & chips... More

On the estuary across the mudflats a huge and exotic variety of waterfowl may be seen from here. Egrets, herons (obviously) and even a pelican had been sighted not long before we visited. The interior is very appealing and has a beach house relaxed and informal style along with a roaring log fire, paintings and art on display around the... More

Five of us wandered in towards the end of our walk. We managed to get a table and ordered lunch. The service was efficient and friendly and they were obviously working really hard, but were happy and chatty and did everything they could to help us. The food was good as were the portions. I really enjoyed the wild mushrooms... More

Myself & my partner went for an evening meal 23rd Dec both really fancied pork belly which came with dauphinois potatoes. Very disappointing as one mouthful it was gone as portion was so small it also came with two of the skinniest carrots imaginable. The pork was really tasty. My advice to people would be to eat at home first... More

I have to confess that I have never been to the Heron Inn,and thankfully I have not left disappointed! We walked into a lovely, festive bar with a very polite waiter who showed us to our seats, took our drinks order and arrived promptly back with them. Unfortunately, being heavily pregnant,by back was already getting sore on the chairs, but it wasn't an issue... More

Went to The Heron with a couple of friends for dinner. The Inn has the most fabulous views over Malpas creek, and is part of the St. Austell Brewery chain. The bar/restaurant area is okay, light and airy. There weren't many customers in the Inn, when we arrived, we had booked a table but there was no need. Friendly reception,... More

Great food, lovely staff. Amazing view. Close to Truro. Parking difficult and must be a nightmare in the middle of summer. Small road so passing a problem. Could take a while to get there and back. Best out of season I can imagine.
