From arriving to leaving this really is a 5 star jewel in the Crown I absolutely have to mention Bry, who managed the restaurant tonight, and was 10/10 My room, ( the Elton room) is fabulous and very relaxing. Breakfast was amazing. Its so nice...to stay in a non-corporate establishment. I shall most definitely be back 👍 All the best guys And thanks againMore

This is a delightful village pub set in a picturesque village. We had booked in for lunch and were warmly welcomed and guided into the restaurant by the front of house team who were happy in their work and were attentive and very helpful throughout...the lunch. The restaurant is circular with very comfortable chairs and quality fitments and fittings. It provides a lovely setting for an eating experience, such an important quality for a restaurant. The menu is a blue print that clearly shows a kitchen team that are creative, innovative and have a strong desire to demonstrate their culinary prowess. We had a starter of chorizo and squid in a tomato ragout served presented on a carefully trellis-marked grilled croute…. and served on a hot plate. The flavours and textures were a delight. My guest ordered the cottage pie with a dish of hot vegetables, which she declared was very hot and flavoursome. I had the fillet of sea bass with a flaked haddock chowder with a tasty crushed potato with vegetables running through the middle. It was beautifully presented on a hot plate, nicely seasoned and was totally delicious. Thank you.More

To find a 'foodie' place that remains a pub rather than a restaurant with an almost reluctant nod towards a bar is often difficult. The Crown achieves that mix remarkably well. The bar is warming and welcoming, including the pub dog lounging like a hearth...rug in front of the fire. The real ale was clear and satisfying. Our room was in the outer building and was spotless and comfortable, with the bonus of it's own enclosed garden, which would have been put to use in warmer weather. Obviously, the Crown's main attraction is its award winning food. Here is a chef who knows his business. Pub food meets fine dining. Quality before quantity, which older guests, particularly, will welcome. The prices are fair.More

We booked into the Crown Inn for a birthday celebration and we were able to take our dog along too, frequently this means you end up with Bar food or peanuts! Not so at the Crown Inn we had the full restaurant menu at our...disposal and what a menu! We had lots to choose from and nothing disappointed. Without reservation we would recommend the Crown Inn. My steak was fantastic I definitely won’t be waiting till my next birthday to return!More

I recently held a memorial celebration for my late father in law at The Crown in Elton as it was a place he had enjoyed on numerous occasions. We booked the bistro room near the bar area which was the perfect space for our small...group. All my mail and phone communications with Xin in the lead up to the day gave us the confidence to know we would be well looked after - and we certainly were. The day itself went wonderfully well and the staff at the Crown were superb in their efforts and friendliness. The room was set up perfectly with the champagne ready on ice for us when we arrived. The sandwich buffet we ordered was delicious, beautifully presented and was much appreciated by our guests. I cannot praise Xin and her team in the the bar area enough for helping to make the day such a success. Thank you and well done, you even made the sun shine for us!!!More

We had a family meal for 11 people to celebrate an 18th birthday and from booking to eating, Xin and the team looked after us very well. The menu was really interesting and accommodated everyone's tastes and preferences, the wine selection was a cut above...normal pub lists and the atmosphere was really buzzing, with a mix of drinkers and diners, inside and outside. Service was great and the staff were really friendly. We ate in a separate room at the front, which felt part of the pub when we kept the doors opened but become a private dining area with the doors shut. It worked perfectly. My only feedback is that the main course dishes varied in size - the cod dish was delicious but definitely need the addition of sides but the other dishes were ample without any additional veg. Overall, a really good evening, great food, great atmosphereMore

The 3 of us had the best of lunches here. Yes it was pricey, but worth every penny. The pub its self is ancient and beautiful, but the dinning area is light and airy. Staff were nice, service pretty quick, food outstanding!!!! I would highly...recommend this pub to eat out to impress or to celebrate at, or simply to enjoy a fabulous meal.More

Stayed here overnight on 30th July. When in this area previously I have stayed at the Premier Inn, Norman Cross but this is now closed. I really enjoyed my night at the Crown. It is located in a very pretty, quiet village and the Inn...appears to be quite popular with locals. It is also handy for the A1. Some rooms are are in a separate building in the courtyard but mine was in the main building and was very tastefully furnished, spacious and comfortable. Staff are very pleasant and there was a reasonable choice of provisions for breakfast. In summary, all was as it should be for an enjoyable stay, I will have no hesitation in booking in again next time I am in the area provided the prices remain reasonable.More
