We chose The Crown at Elton for a family meal, for the first time. I had not been before , and whilst other family members had, none for a long time... and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
A lovely spacious conservatory restaurant, as part of a lovely rural pub bar. Most of us ordered Sunday Lunch, although I did manage to squeeze the Whitebait starter in when no-one was looking! That was well presented, fresh and substantive.
For main, I had the Roast Beef, with well sized Yorkshire Puddings and all the trimmings. Nice to see Cauliflower Cheese on the complimentary vegetable dish, along with broccoli, carrots and mange toute. The beef was perfectly cooked, and whilst we needed a tad more gravy, they were more than happy to provide it.
For dessert I had the Treacle Sponge with custard, which was masterful!
Staff were pleasant and attentive, and service speed was good.
A top restaurant and we will be back!

We nipped in at the end of our walk for a quick drink, but stayed for a bite to eat too.
The staff were really friendly and service was very quick.
We ordered a selection of little plates to share - the selection was great, they arrived quickly, were presented really well and tasted lovely.
The marquee provided great protection from the cold, and tables were well spaced.
Would definitely recommend and will be returning again.

Overnight stop at The Crowne Inn, Elton. Our hosts for the evening, Helen & Jeff, could not do enough for us - most welcoming and friendly.
The room was lovely, with all the amenities (including a Nespresso machine) and a spotlessly clean en-suite.
We’d booked Dinner, Bed & Breakfast, very good value indeed - the 3 course evening meal was outstanding.
Great choice of breakfast the following morning (even during these trying times) Porridge with Vanilla was to die for.
This spot was fantastic for walks between neighboring villages.
I would highly recommend both the hotel and the Elton area.

We ordered drinks and two menus. The drinks were provided but two minutes later we were advised that owing to a large party in the restaurant, they wouldn’t even take a bar food order for 45 minutes. So thanks for your drinks money but no food for you. A simple sign or pre emptive comment would have given us the chance to go elsewhere for lunch. Not impressed, just sloppy.

We visited for lunch earlier today and were greeted and quickly seated in the restaurant.
Orders were taken I had the Sunday lunch which I had to admit was extremely good, could not fault and although £22 for a roast dinner seems very pricy, and perhaps the most I had ever paid, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
My wife ordered the chicken skewers which looked lovely on the plate but my wife cut in and found the first chicken piece pink inside.... This was quickly rectified a d replaced with a burger meal which my wife did not enjoy.
Service was excellent, very friendly and the lady who served us ( dark haired with glasses) was a credit to her profession.
Sadly I am rewarding 3 out of 5 as my wife did not enjoy her food.

We had a family meal for 11 people to celebrate an 18th birthday and from booking to eating, Xin and the team looked after us very well.
The menu was really interesting and accommodated everyone's tastes and preferences, the wine selection was a cut above normal pub lists and the atmosphere was really buzzing, with a mix of drinkers and diners, inside and outside.
Service was great and the staff were really friendly.
We ate in a separate room at the front, which felt part of the pub when we kept the doors opened but become a private dining area with the doors shut. It worked perfectly.
My only feedback is that the main course dishes varied in size - the cod dish was delicious but definitely need the addition of sides but the other dishes were ample without any additional veg.
Overall, a really good evening, great food, great atmosphere

This was the best pub meal I've ever had!
We visited as a family to celebrate my Mums birthday.
We had 3 courses and everyone was happy with all of their meals. The chef must be a culinary genius as both the beetroot starter and the pork main had such a genius mix of flavours, they had a party in my mouth!
The staff were attentive and friendly. They even put the Happy Birthday song on and put candles in my mums dessert which was a nice touch.
It was our first visit but we would definitely return.
Thanks to all for a great night.

I recently held a memorial celebration for my late father in law at The Crown in Elton as it was a place he had enjoyed on numerous occasions.
We booked the bistro room near the bar area which was the perfect space for our small group. All my mail and phone communications with Xin in the lead up to the day gave us the confidence to know we would be well looked after - and we certainly were.
The day itself went wonderfully well and the staff at the Crown were superb in their efforts and friendliness. The room was set up perfectly with the champagne ready on ice for us when we arrived. The sandwich buffet we ordered was delicious, beautifully presented and was much appreciated by our guests.
I cannot praise Xin and her team in the the bar area enough for helping to make the day such a success. Thank you and well done, you even made the sun shine for us!!!

This is a delightful village pub set in a picturesque village.
We had booked in for lunch and were warmly welcomed and guided into the restaurant by the front of house team who were happy in their work and were attentive and very helpful throughout the lunch.
The restaurant is circular with very comfortable chairs and quality fitments and fittings. It provides a lovely setting for an eating experience, such an important quality for a restaurant.
The menu is a blue print that clearly shows a kitchen team that are creative, innovative and have a strong desire to demonstrate their culinary prowess.
We had a starter of chorizo and squid in a tomato ragout served presented on a carefully trellis-marked grilled croute…. and served on a hot plate. The flavours and textures were a delight.
My guest ordered the cottage pie with a dish of hot vegetables, which she declared was very hot and flavoursome.
I had the fillet of sea bass with a flaked haddock chowder with a tasty crushed potato with vegetables running through the middle. It was beautifully presented on a hot plate, nicely seasoned and was totally delicious.
Thank you.

I can't say anything bad about the food, it is good, very good, the service however leaves a lot to be desired.
Almost an hour wait for tapas plates, bar staff who are confrontational when a question is asked and a general lack of understanding that every customer she come first.
When asking if there was still a deal on three plates the server snapped back with 'this is how it is', when enquiring much longer we would be waiting she replied There working on I, it'll be ready when it's ready', even though I explained that we had a 3year old and just needd to make sure she was happy.
Also the table that came in after is got served first but this is normal at The Crown as if you are friends of the staff you always get preferential treatment.
As said though the food is great, the pub has a nice feel to it and its always worth stopping buy for a drink.

Really lovely pub, this is our second visit and we will be returning. The food is brilliant both in quality and presentation. We particularly liked a lovely starter of roast beetroot, pine nuts & glazed fig with blue cheese fritters and raspberry vinaigrette, followed by breaded haddock goujons, minted pea puree, delicious french fries, tarter sauce & lemon.
All the staff were really welcoming, friendly and very helpful as an example of this I suffered a horrid migraine and couldn't finish my meal on our first night and a little later on there was a knock on the bedroom door and the member of staff presented me with with some medication.......wow I won't forget that as an example of A 1 service.

Last minute booking for The Snug to celebrate 80th Birthday with family.
Email correspondence was good and received menus in advance to preorder. It was no trouble that some of us hadn’t pre-ordered all courses & those that had did have the opportunity to change their mind should they have wished.
The Sung is a lovely room with plenty of for the 11 of us - adults and children. We were able to decorate with birthday banners & balloons prior to the birthday boy arriving.
Food was served at the time requested & wow, it was amazing. Good portions, freshly cooked and beautifully presented. We’d ordered the sourdough bread as nibbles, it was a warm loaf of tastiness. Mains meals were delightful, good sized and not everyone managed to finish them!
Puddings were gorgeous too, recommend saving a little room for them.
Will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone at The Crown Inn.

Received a warm welcome at this lovely pub. Nothing was too much trouble and treats and water were provided for the dog. We ordered fish chips, the portions were large, the fish was fresh and cooked in a light, crispy batter and the chunky chips were excellent. Hope to return soon.

A lovely quiet setting in the calm of the Nene valley, offering walks through the peaceful countryside. The accommodation is spacious and warm and we found the staff very welcoming and efficient. Dinner was delicious, served promptly in the bustling restaurant. The breakfast was well cooked and set us up for a days exploring the NVR, just minutes down the road, next to a junction on the Great North Road. Well recommended.
