Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An absolutely perfect dining experience! The food was truly superb (I would go as far as to say the best Sirloin Steak I have ever eaten - and believe me, I've eaten a few!), the staff attentive but not overbearing, and the atmosphere in the...restaurant, recently decorated for Christmas, was lovely. The whole evening was a pleasure!More

Wonderful setting for a family birthday celebration in The Snug and bar. A lovely atmosphere, super food and drink and attentive staff who were friendly and efficient. We stayed over in a beautifully decorated room with everything you could need and our own garden area....Super comfy bed, so a good night’s sleep. Food at dinner and breakfast was amazing. High quality all round - we will definitely be back!More

Welcome was slightly off putting. Sunday lunch was very good, and I enjoyed the pork bites as a starter. No wine list on the table.

Last minute booking for The Snug to celebrate 80th Birthday with family. Email correspondence was good and received menus in advance to preorder. It was no trouble that some of us hadn’t pre-ordered all courses & those that had did have the opportunity to change...their mind should they have wished. The Sung is a lovely room with plenty of for the 11 of us - adults and children. We were able to decorate with birthday banners & balloons prior to the birthday boy arriving. Food was served at the time requested & wow, it was amazing. Good portions, freshly cooked and beautifully presented. We’d ordered the sourdough bread as nibbles, it was a warm loaf of tastiness. Mains meals were delightful, good sized and not everyone managed to finish them! Puddings were gorgeous too, recommend saving a little room for them. Will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone at The Crown Inn.More

Nice food and good real ale. Very friendly staff. Rooms clean and well presented - only downside was that my room was quite noisy from shower next door and kitchen clanging at 6am.

Stayed at the Crown Inn as part of a 3 week driving holiday around UK. Lovely little pub in the heart of the village of Elton in Cambridgeshire. Rooms are well appointed and very spacious compared to many Pub type accommodation in UK. King size...beds available which was a must for us. Had dinner at pub which was excellent as well. Overall the venue over delivered on our expectations. Highly recommended.More

A charming village inn I have known for years, but the first time I have stayed overnight. Very welcoming, but no introduction to accommodation. ThiS proved a little embarrassing when I could not find the ‘fridge. It is hidden in a cupboard at floor level...in the corner under the desk. Got prompt attention when the alarm went off !More
