We were fortunate enough to secure a reservation for 8 people to dine the last night of our two week South Africa trip. For those gourmet/foodie types, this restaurant is not to be missed. You start off in the dark room, where you are served two cocktails and six appetizer courses. Each more interesting and well assembled than the next.... More

This was a highlight of our honeymoon visit to Cape Town. Food was exceptional. We had a seven course tasting menu and every dish blew us away. The ambience was fantastic. The service was relaxed and friendly. Wine was delicious. Perfect evening and perfect meal.

All of the reviews on the Test Kitchen are fantastic for good reason. This was a truly unique dining experience - once in a life time. Without spoiling too much of what makes it unique, the service is wonderful, the flavors of the food are fantastic and the experience itself is so memorable. Note that this is an extremely long... I admit I was a bit apprehensive about going to "The Test Kitchen". The booking system is a nightmare (thank you Cape Grace concierge, you are are all stars) and all this light and dark nonsense sounded a bit pretentious. But, wow, was I wrong. It really delivered on all levels. The setting is trendy and "urban", don't expect white... More

Enjoyed the light/dark side experience and found every morsel delicious and interesting. Not an easy feat to accomplish. The iconic wine pairing lived up to its billing showcasing what SA wines can be. Great evening forgetting the advance booking hassle

Some Michelin starred places can be pretentious and silly with more show than substance but this place had both. It's a brilliant experience of 2 halves and although I lost count of the number of courses, I think I was 15/16! The service is friendly and fantastic, they are amazing with allergies and the food is out of this world.... More

We visited many of top 50 restaurants on our travels so as soon as I booked our Cape Town holiday, I tried to secure booking for Test Kitchen. It's not an easy task, there is no telephone or email reservation and if you try to contact them, they don't answer your messages. I eventually got concierge at our hotel to... More

This is one of the best restaurants I've ever visited. Very good food and exceptional service. Well worth the money even with the iconic wine pairing.

Brilliant service, food and atmosphere. We booked well in advance...... talking months to ensure we had this reservation, so please do so or you will miss out. You won't be disappointed with the quality and price, especially if you're a foreigner. Everything is done right here, even when load shedding happens, they are ready and you don't miss out on...
