Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The people of Pershore are very lucky to have such an authentic Indian restaurant on their doorstep! We travel across from Cheltenham to pick up a takeaway and when we feel like a real treat dine in as well. The staff are very attentive and make you feel at home, the food is fresh, hot and consistently good. Worth booking as it is very popular with the locals.

Food was ok, naans not as good as they once were. Service was slow despite being quiet. The waiting staff seemed not to want to be there with an air of contempt. The only person with any charisma was the chef who seemed to be the only one wanting to please the customers. Beware drinks cost as much as a main dish and thought it was expensive for what we got. Will not be rushing back.

The staff are lovely, warm, and accommodating. They have a wide range of drinks available and some very interesting fusion dishes. When we went in and ate, the food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The flavours were amazing and my partner and I enjoyed everything we ordered. It came to £60 for us when we ordered a drink each, shared a starter, had a curry each, plus popadoms and 1 naan to share, which was quite pricey, but we were happy to pay it for the quality and service we received. 2 weeks later, we decided to order a takeaway from here; it was slightly cheaper than going in to eat, which surprised us, but it also makes sense given that they provide you with mints after your meal and moist towels for wiping down. We ordered via telephone and our order was ready to collect in 20 minutes, which is a good service time for an Indian. Unfortunately, the meals we received weren't as flavourful as what we had when we'd sat in (we ordered the exact same thing) and lacked any diversity in spices or anything else, which was a real shame. It feels like they take more care of their in-house customers than those that order takeout, which is unfortunate. We haven't been since but might go again in the future to see if it has changed.

I am not sure where to start with this one? We ate around 9:00 pm on a Friday night, the restaurant was busy and we had not booked. We were lucky to be seated, so booking may be advisable. The restaurant is small inside and a little tightly packed, so may not be too wheelchair friendly. It is on a busy main street with no parking directly outside, there is however parking close by. It is clean and well presented, having a small well stocked bar. The usual beers, spirits and wines are on offer. The service was adequate, but lacked the personal touch. We were there, they gave us food, that's about it. We waited around 25 minutes for our meal, which we did not feel was excessive as it was very busy. To be fair if it was quieter they may have paid us some attention. The menu is not large, but carries the usual fare for this type of restaurant. There are also some variations and specialities that are very good indeed. The helpings were far from small, hot, very tasty and nicely presented. I have no issues with the food at all. Overall an enjoyable visit, but missing something. Not bad value for money either. If you read the previous reviews there seems to be a divide between eating in and take away food quality. I would eat here again, but as I say the jury is out till then.

Had a takeaway for 6 people from Jimmy Pickles on Saturday night. We placed the order in person in the restaurant and, at that point, were the only customers in the restaurant. Even so, we did not receive a warm welcome from the staff and felt as if we were a minor inconvenience. The food arrived well packed and insulated which meant that it was still hot when we started eatingaround 10 minutes later. We'd ordered a variety of curries including the sylheti jalfrezi and naga chilli. Unfortunately, the food seemed to have all been made from the same base curry sauce, both the curries from the 'traditional' list and from the 'Chef's Specials'. The naga chilli curry was described as having a thick sauce but it was only slightly thicker than water. None of the food had any real flavour, particularly the hotter curries where the restaurant had prioritised heat over flavour. I remember when this restaurant first opened. Smiling, welcoming staff and flavoursome food. This was my first time back in many years and it was a great disappointment. I've had worse but I've had much better with much better service.

Visited this curry house twice this week and nothing disappoints, very good choice of menu, very good service from friendly attentive staff. Above all the food was so good, beautifully cooked and so tasty and well presented. Will be a regular for me either eating in or takeaway Love it 😍

Ended up in this restaurant simply because I was chatting to some people in the street who were talking about this restaurant and they were going as it was recommended to them. I was asked if I had booked a table! I've never been asked that in an INDIAN restaurant before! It was very busy, not only in the restaurant but they obviously did a roaring trade in takeaways as the phone was constantly ringing and large boxes wrapped in cling film kept appearing from the kitchen. The service (despite being very busy) was excellent, probably the quickest I have ever experienced. Staff were very helpful, attentive and efficient. Food was excellent. I initially thought the food a bit unusual and different from what I normally get, until I realised it was because it was fresh and really yummy. If I didn't live over 100 miles away there is no doubt this would be my regular source of great INDIAN dining experiences!

A fathers day treat ended up expensive and very poor. We had a takeaway and were extremely disappointed in it. The vegetable curry/sauce that came with the biryani was like dishwater and devoid of vegetables and flavour, went straight down the sink. The tika masala was also lacking in flavour. Won't be rushing back.

Great restaurant with exceptional food. Certainly not your standard Indian as the food is very well presented (could be on master chef) a great selection of beverages for anyone's taste. Staff very attentive and central location. Really great place

Went in for evening dinner on mothering sunday. Although we were the only customers in the restaurant, the phone was constantly ringing and the take aways were flying out. Great service and the food was stunning. Freshly cooked and hot as well nicely presented. We had 2 starters, 2 mains, rice, naan bread and 2 large glasses of wine for £68. Complete feast! Beautiful food with proper chefs. Thanks all. 5*.

Looked good on internet, far from it. Had Jalfrezi absolutely tasteless. Despite several visits to table by staff glances at uneaten food not once asked if meal was ok. Almost avoiding the question . It was terrible, tasteless and bland just good enough for the dog. Completely spoilt the night. Never eat here again. Also I'm disabled and there were no facilities very very poor in this day and age. If not with family I would have refused to pay. Better available from Asda.

Following the great reviews, we decided to try their take-away food and we were left dissapointed. The quality is ok but nothing special. Onion bhajees were very dry, the rotis crunchy and their curries were lacking depth. Maybe we caught them on a bad night but we wont be returning anytime soon.

If your an Indian lover this restaurant is a must to visit. The food was outstanding. We had a Thai fish cake and tandoori duck stir fry to start then chicken tikka Muslam with green chilli, fresh coriander, hotter than medium and Prawn Roshuni tarkari garlic infused curry. Excellent service in an Indian with a twist, don’t miss out!!

We’ve been having take aways from here for ten years. We managed to have an evening out and ate in and it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was great and even though I’ve not been in for years (hubby usually goes) the manager/owner recognised me and came to say hi. Food is always great but tasted even better as it was so fresh. The keema naan was amazing! Clean and tidy. I felt totally happy with social distancing too. Parking can sometimes be tricky if nipping in as it’s on the high street but as we were eating in we parked at the Abbey car park, which is free after 6pm.

Haven’t been for a meal here for ages. The quality of the food is excellent. Service friendly. The staff member on duty was certainly working very hard. The only thing I’d say is get a quieter phone, for takeaways it rings really loud. Lots of orders were coming in. Presentation of food is also really good
