Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Celebrating my husbands birthday, so went out for lunch at this fantastic pub. It is a firm favourite of ours and has never failed us. Arrived today to find a wonderful table next to a roaring fire with a birthday banner across the fireplace. We...had soup and garlic prawns to start followed by salmon fillet plus hollandaise and scampi for me. Hubby had the apple pie and custard for pud, said the pastry was incredible. All in all superb and huge thanks to Paul and the team for looking after us so magnificently. Highly recommendedMore

This pub is fantastic. There were 4 us and we all love a pie and we gathered to experience the Pie Night Special Menu on 25th January (Burns Night). It was an exceptional evening. The waitress (I wish I could remember her name) was brilliant...& made our evening memorable (she told us a hilarious story about having to say buttered mash, which she felt was odd because of course mash is buttered!) and the food was delicious. It was 3 courses and a set price and I couldn't fault a mouthful or any moment we were there. Great choice of pies and a 5 star visit for me! Thank you to you all. A brilliant team of people are running this place. You should try it.More

Thank you very much Neil. As you say we are an ideal location for walks up Bredon Hill or flatter alternatives around the base of the hill. We love our walkers but we do ask that if you are accompanied by 4 legged friends that...More

i booked a table well in advance for new years eve for lunch for myself and family. On arriving, i was told they were fully booked in the restaurant which is where i booked for and was offered a table in the area adjacent to...the bar where many walkers with their dogs were assembled. The compact area which stank of wet dogs due to the rain was totally unacceptable and extremely disappointing for what was going to be a nice end of year meal. I was told we would have to wait nearly two hours before a table could become available. After a short while, we were found a table closer to the restaurant but unfortunately it was in a walkway from the front door to the bar meaning i had to move my chair every time someone wanted to get by. The meal was mediocre (roast beef was really tough) which spoilt the whole experience. Although living locally, i will not be using this restaurant again.More

A superb venue! I booked a group of 24 and pre-ordered the food. It came out very promptly. Everyone in the group agreed that it was delicious!

Great atmosphere, friendly and fantastic food what more could you ask for from a country pub. I thought of keeping this venue a secret in order to ensure a table available when I next book. That of course would be very selfish, so I’ll just...ask you avoid booking Tuesdays as that’s most convenient day for me to book.More

Our one & only previous experience of dining here was a Sunday lunch for three of us a few months ago. On the strength of that delightful experience, we decided that we would have our "Christmas get together" at this charming rural venue. Accordingly &...with eleven of us on this occasion, we were served with one of the most enjoyable three course Christmas lunches any of us had ever had in a long time. The food was piping hot, excellently prepared & served to perfection. This was not a fantastic experience, it was double fantastic ! Thank you Paul & all of your cheerful & hard working staff & especially the kitchen staff. We will be back.More

We were there for our bowls club annual dinner and presentation night. Gill and all the staff provided a superb evening for us. The restuarant was well decorated, the food was excellent as was the service. They coped very well with two people arriving unexpectedly...and fitted them in without any fuss. We cannot recommend highly enough, many thanks.More

Myself and my son decided to visit the pub on the recommendation of our B&B host. The pub was lovely very nice inside and out. I think they may have had a christmas light switch on as the the pub looked really lovely all lit...up and it was very busy! The food was really good we both enjoyed our meals and it was very reasonably priced too! The lady who was our waitress was very nice and helpful. The only thing that i would say is that obviously with it being the lights switch on (i assume) there was alot of children which i absolutely fine and so lovely to see them so excited! I too have children BUT they were left to run back and forth sometimes almost colliding with the staff carrying drinks and hot food! This could have been disastrous! Not only that but people in the restaurant were trying to relax and eat their meals which was hard with children running past your table and shouting. I just felt as did the other diners that perhaps they should have had a word with the parents at this point. Overall a really lovely meal and reasonably priced!More
