Friendly staff in a pub with great food and good beer. Steak and Ale pie , I had after a stilton and mushroom starter , was full of tender and tasty meat.

We were staying at the Woodlands B&B just up the road, so had this place recommended to us, as it was within walking distance.... good basic pub food, lovely salmon!

Waited ages for food and when it came the chicken was over cooked, dry and poor value. The staff were very pleasant and did apologise for the delay, it was a pity the quality of the food didn’t match the quality of the staff.

Our first visit post lockdown with friends from Oxfordshire - we all had wonderful lunches and were highly impressed with both the presentation and quality of our meals. We'll be back again soon!

Recommended to us by a local and they were right. We stopped for lunch and had a lovely meal. The food was simple and delicious (definitely try their crumble if on offer), and the beer was well looked after, you could tell by the taste!

I liked the look of the menu here, plus this pub has its own car park. What I didn’t know is that it also has a good drop of beer (Brakspears), a pleasant decor and that the service would be excellent. I had a very...More

The pub is dog friendly but only the bar area. They have treats and water bowls for dogs too.
