Welcomed by the delightful front-of-house Sarah upon arrival, we were charmed by the the cozy ambiance of La Maison du Village. The in-house baked focaccia was so incredible that we purchased some to take home, and was a perfect opener. My braised lamb poutine was a fab flavour melange, based on perfectly crisped potato roesti, and my husband enjoyed his... More

I have not had such a great meal anywhere for several years. Although the menu is limited with about 5 appetizers, 4 mains and 4 desserts to choose from the food is simply amazing. I choose calamari two ways as my appetizer., braised short ribs on a broad noodle pasta as a main course and crepe brûlée for dessert. Others... More

We stopped in sans reservation after a stroll through this lovely village, and happened upon one of the best meals we've enjoyed in and around Ottawa. Ebullient, attentive, service, an unpretentious kitchen where terroir is omnipresent, were a prélude to a creative, original, masterfully executed meal. The calamari two-ways was on point: light, flavorful, a delightful starter, the pickerel was... More

Sometimes you stumble on gold. A small but beautiful restaurant run from the heart by a great couple, Mike and Sara. AMAZIMG creativity and flavours that blow you away. The menu varies but offers some delicious and creative plates such as braised lamb poutine, pig cheek fetticcini and braised short ribs. High end food that will please a descerning pallet.... More

small and intimate restaurant with wonderful food. Great care in the quality of the food and the service. Good selection of wine at reasonable pricing. I have gone to literally 1000's of restaurants because of my work. I am careful about where I eat and the quality of the food. I would rate this place in the top tier. I... More

We had an excellent meal here is September. They timed the table reservations very well so the servers were able to manage a full house with no problems. The food was creative and delicious.

We went on a a small plates night. It was delicious. Great wine selection and knowledge as we asked for recommendations. I had a Moscow mule which was very good. We had most of the small plates between our party of 4. They were all very delicious. My favorite was the mac and cheese with pulled and braised pork belly.... More

My husband and I ate a beautiful, delicious meal at this fine establishment last Friday evening. The setting is relaxed and casual, and the food is delicious with lovely presentation. The music sets the tone with folksy tunes befitting of this charming rural lakefront village playing lightly in the background. We'll definitely be back.

Visited during the summer, sat outside on the side patio. Service was good, ordered a bottle of wine with our meal. We also ordered a few appetizers to share. The lamb poutine, Caesar salad, Beet Appetizer. The lamb poutine was ok (they could have done a better job in picking the huge fatty pieces of the meat - certainly 70... More

Quaint and lovely restaurant in Wakefield. Very friendly staff. We went on tapas night, for shareable plates as a couple and were not dissapointed. The dishes were a mix of comfort foods taken to the next level as well as original fusion type dishes. We highly recommend this restaurant.
