Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We ordered 4 rounds of sandwiches (which consists of 2 sandwiches, chips, salad and coleslaw), and mentioned to the Bar staff that I have an allergy and could not have the coleslaw that came with it. The Bar staff were understanding. However a waitress appeared...and questioned the nature of why I wouldn't have their "homemade" coleslaw. She went away and come back when we was sitting waiting for our meal and still persisted with the questions as to why I wouldn't have the coleslaw. It made me feel very uncomfortable and upset. To make matters worse, when our food arrived, I found that I had the sandwiches but only with chips, no salad. So I gathered that if you don't have coleslaw you don't have the salad. It seems that this pub does not know how to treat people with allergies, that we are an inconvience to them and their establishment.More

Extremely disappointed with the ploughman’s dish here. For something that requires minimal effort to prepare and zero actual cooking the cheese was flavourless, the salad was limp and the ingredients were cheap and poorly presented. £12 for something extremely substandard. Bar staff were miserable as...well.More

After being recommended on our first visit to Maldon we went with what appeared to be the most popular dish of fish and chips and we weren't disappointed. We both had a huge freshly cooked haddock, nice chips and peas which was excellent quality and...value in a great waterside setting. Areas for improvement would be having hot plates to keep the food warm longer and my wife's tea had little pots of UHT milk instead of fresh which for such a simple addition was disappointing. A great spot with great food and a selection of good beers.More

We found our meals to be expensive and would compare to a Wetherspoons meal. Good enough but not worth the money. The sauces were filled from dirty plastic dispensers in view of the dining tables. Pickles and sauces come in little paper pots compared to...hospital pill pots. Not very appealing. If you are a strict vegetarian or vegan there is very limited choices. The waiting staff were attentive and friendly. We agreed that the views were lovely but felt dissapointed in the over-all quality of everything. If this was a school report it would say 'could do better.'More

Service was great staff helpful nothing too much trouble food was good and great value for money. Considering how much passing trade they must have there was no scrimping on the standard of food and value for money. Shall definitely be revisiting

Eaten here loads but first time in the restaurant. Food always consistently great. The staff make this place Friendly, professional and extremely hard working A massively busy Saturday evening all run like clockwork. The senior management should be very proud. I did make a point...of praising the staff and they were thrilledMore

This pub is owned by the same people that run The Anchor in Danbury, I came here a few years back and wasn’t impressed with the food, I often visit the Anchor and was told there that their had chef had moved over to the...Queens Head and I should try it again, well I have and still wasn’t that impressed. The portion sizes were good but it just lacked taste, the mash tasted old and reheated and the pie although it tasted ok the puff lid when cut just exploded all over the place. Hubby said the burger was quite nice but the chips again just tasted like they had been reheated. The staff were nice though. I can walk here from home or drive to the Anchor, think I’ll drive next time.More

Amazing food. Great service. Friendly staff too. Hugely popular even on a freezing winter day. Recommend you BOOK rather than just "dropping in" for food. Very fair portion sizes. Many thanks Gavin 😉 and team

I don’t think so! Guide Dogs certainly yes, but other than that, I would give them a call!
