Have just been in to collect a take away for family and after the way I was spoken to I will not be going back again. I had asked for each serving to be in its own boxes which she then gave me a filthy look and was extremely rude when there was a confusion with change. Very unproffessional and... More

Lady cook Sat smoking outside when arrived, asked for a veg pie and mash was told it will take half hour to cook and she will be closing then. Made to feel that we should not have gone in 40mins before closing. At least she had time to go out the front for another fag.

Walked up maldon high street looking for resonable priced meal ,the weather was cold and needed something warm but didn't want to break the bank, what a great place ,had a big steaming mug of tea which cost 80p, and a delicious plate of pie, mash and liqueur for only £4 , which was both warm and filling. Only drawback was... More

Lovely double pie and mash with liquor for me on an overcast day really does set you up for the day. The ladies in the shop are polite and friendly. I love that there is a very good pie and mash not so far away, means I can visit when ever I like. Very traditional and great food.

Nice mash if a bit lumpy, green liquor ok, pie bad very dark brown meat that just didn't taste nice. Place needs a good deep clean, dirty floor cobwebs all around window under breakfast bar, condiments not moved when table wiped as ring marks and whats with the big dead plant by window? just bin it!

Whether you eat in or take away you can not beat pie and mash and this place is no different. It is located mid way on the maldon high street and you will be served by a few young ladies who are warm and friendly. Take a paper order your food and watch the world go by.

the pie and mash was well cooked maybe not as good as you could buy in the east of london , but still very enjoyable -- if any "mature" greengrocers are reading this , this pie and shop is worth a visit , because on the wall are various photos of characters and workers from the old spitalfields market ,... Welcome to Maldon Pie 'n' MashFor those seeking a traditional dining experience, you won't be disappointed by our variety of freshly baked pies served with a choice of mash, chips, liquor, gravy or eels.Pie & Mash Shops have a special place in our affections because they are unique and inextricably linked to East London, bound up with the cultural and historical identity of the place – becoming destinations where people enjoy pilgrimages to seek sustenance for body and soul, by paying homage to the spirit of the old East End incarnated in these tiled, steamy temples dedicated to the worship of hot pies.
