We eat out almost every sunday, and have visited many local pubs we have had some very goods roasts, well this one tops the lot, lovely.
A choice of a small roast for 7.95, or large for 10.95, great for us, as my wife prefers a smaller dinner. We had to wait a short while, but worth the wait for fresh cooked food. When it arrived the small roast was more like a standard size dinner on a smaller plate, I had a large mixed roast, lamb and beef, so much meat, two Yorkies, lovely roasted potatoes, and good choice of veg, also a good choice of local ale.
The pub has a friendly local atmosphere, and every table was full, and a few locals at the bar.
A fantastic pub, we will certainly be regular visitors now.

Visited today with family four adults and two children for my sons birthday. This was our 3rd visit and once lived up to all expectations. I had the small plated roast which has it says small but fine for me. Great value for money we paid we all had a couple of drinks and three desserts £110. Will be back soon

My husband, 2 dogs and I recently popped in to this beautiful country pub while on our holidays to Essex.
We were met with a warm welcome by the young chap behind the bar and we ordered a light lunch.
I had garlic mushrooms, which were served on garlic bread with rocket leaves and drizzled with balsamic glaze, it was a huge portion and very filling even though it was a starter.
My husband had the smoked bacon and Brie sandwich, with a lovely mixed side salad, again all beautifully served and presented. We shared a side of chunky chips which were clearly the real thing, not oven chips. Crispy and crunchy on the outside and fluffy like a roast potato on the inside.
A really super place to eat and enjoy a quiet drink. We’ll definitely be back.

Friendly, professional pub with excellent staff and wonderful drinks/food.
We are regulars at the quiz night for a meal and then the light hearted quiz with a raffle to get a go at “open the box”.
Claire, John and the team make you feel totally at home.
We liked the pub and way you are treated so much we held a family event there in January and we’re totally looked after.
Would highly recommend.

Wow! What a beautiful pub, so cosy, welcoming and food was outstanding. First time and won’t be the last…New Years Eve lunch with friends.
Fresh, home cooked, pub food that was tasty, plentiful and delicious. Spoilt for choice with a fabulous menu and great specials on the board.
Service was excellent - compliments to the chef, owners and staff. So pleased our friends took us here…We will be back 110% and by the way…top tip…the after eight cheesecake is AMAZING!

My husband and I have frequented The Prince of Wales on many many occasions. Alice and Conor are very sociable helpful and will do whatever they can to make you welcome. The food is exceptional. Its so very very fresh and delicious. Always plenty on the plate you won't go home hungry. The value for money is unbelievable. Our 1st choice for lunch or evening meal is always The Prince of Wales.

Youll always get a warm welcome at The Prince of Wales, it's run like a proper pub in the heart of the village community. The drinks selection is good, and the fresh food menu is wonderful. We always feel at home here, table service is great and efficient, you never have to wait too long for anything. The desserts are fantastic with an extensive choice. They have a beer garden for the summer too.

Myself and two friends had a wonderful meal here. The service was also excellent and food reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere in the pub too. Would highly recommend. My friend and I had Cajun chicken and our other friend had scampi and chips, the chips were to die for !

We came for food yesterday for my partners birthday. The staff are friendly, attentive and nothing is a bother!
The food was out of this world, lots of flavour, with a plentiful portion!
The price was perfect! Overall a brilliant evening and well worth it.

Been here over 10 times in the last few years. Always felt very welcome and the food has always been very good. Think it's dog friendly too as there is always a well bahaved dog somewhere in the pub.

To my regret, for some reason I had never been to this pub even though it is only 5 miles from us. Went for a Sunday roast and it was very, very good with friendly atmosphere and attentive staff and Landlord. If you like your real ales( I do!) they serve Adnams Ghostship and London pride which are kept very well. Left a happy bunny. Will definitely visit more often.

Hadn’t been here for a long time even though we knew it had new management. Just didn’t make it but decided to book for Sunday lunch.
Food very nice and prompt service.
We knew it had been taken on again so hope Claire and John can keep it up to these standards.
We will be back for dinner and one of your music evenings soon.

Would like to be constructive with comments but roast dinner was not very hot and chicken burger meal was so small like child portion. The chicken burger itself was nice but bun cheap and just a 10p slice of cold processed cheese added which was £1.50 extra, no nice salad or coleslaw included
But inside pub was nice and nice outside space also
Staff were very pleasant and eager to remedy any issues
Perhaps normal chef was sick

The amount of times we have been going past this pub we thought we'd try it and we weren't disappointed
Excellent atmosphere staff were absolutely friendly and went the extra mile even put a birthday candle on my mother' inlaws cake food was absolutely perfect we will be going back

You claim to be in the industry yet use platforms to express your grievances when anyone with any empathy for something going wrong on the day would approach us and quietly air the problems- you were given the opportunity to do so.
For your information we are every well supported and incredibly busy serving fresh fish, specials, Sunday roasts etc. But we take the good with the bad and move on. Hope you do too.
