Really nice lunch with my colleague before work. I had the curry mango chicken with Asian slaw baguette and enjoyed it with my oat milk flat white and my friend had a jacket potato with Asian slaw. i booked a cream tea for 4 . The sandwiches were fresh . The cakes were really large sliced chocolate cake and lemon cake the chocolate cake was dry. The “scones” were flat like Scottish oat cakes .. unlike the traditional scone which is part...of the ritual an pleasure of a cream tea. They could not be cut in half as they were so thin. They were actually like sawdust. it totally ruined our day and the reunion. I emailed the Damson Tree and the manager said i should have told her on the day but i did not want to spoil the day more than i had to. She also said she would “replace” the scones if i was local. Absolutely outstanding afternoon tea. Beautifully presented, excellent quality and such a range of food provided. We had these delivered to parents as a Mother’s Day treat and they were over the moon with it. It lasted them 3 meals. We will definitely be ordering from...here again. My husband ordered me a chocolate birthday cake from The Damson Tree and it was amazing - absolutely delicious. We have also ordered the afternoon tea before for our daughter’s birthday which was of very good quality.
We have had afternoon tea for 2 delivered from The Damson Tree Cafe today. We’ve had a few deliveries during lockdown but this was by far the nicest and best value for money. The cakes and scones are all homemade and of a really good...quality, so delicious. It’s presented so beautifully in a gorgeous box with branded ribbon. Looks so professional. We regularly pop in here for breakfast, coffee or lunch. The owners, two lovely ladies , and all staff are so nice and friendly. Their coffee and teas are great and food of all types is lovely fresh and tasty. They always have a good...lunch specials board and are usually happy to cater for any special off menu requests if possible. The vast majority of food is made fresh on the premises including all the super cakes and tray bakes, etc. They also stock a selection of unusual occasion cards and and children’s unusual presents.
