Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I recently went to a wedding at the Red Lion Newton Lincs, It was was a fantastic place to hold a wedding. They held the wedding ceremony there plus the lovely wedding meal also the night time party with extra food during the night. They...do different packages for different levels of wedding requirements. we were lucky to get one of the three rooms to hire for our overnight stay with a lovely breakfast. The lady (Leanne) who runs the weddings here is so helpful and can't do enough to make your wedding run perfectly, she has loads of experience with weddings and helps it all run smoothly. It's a one stop wedding all incuded in one place. I would highly reccomend this venue it has everything you could possible need for you wedding.More

Ok, but what a stink! Ruined the day. Not sure if the fields were being sprayed, but there was a massive pong all the time.

My first visit to The Red Lion was yesterday when my family took me for a Mother’s Day lunch with my whole family. 15 of us visited & we sat with other families in the most beautiful venue room. We was greeted by friendly staff...who couldn’t do enough for us, We then was taken to the carvery and was surprised at the wide selection of food that we could put on our plates, definitely had eyes bigger than our belly’s but with the food so tasty it was hard to put our forks down. The gentleman on the carvery was very helpful and chatty and the waitress was so lovely with my daughters toddler even taking her food to our table for us. A few on our table had puddings that looked equally tasty but I was so full I unfortunately couldn’t manage a pudding. But have learnt now to not overindulgence on the home made roasties and save room for pudding. I loved The Red Lion so much I have booked for next Sunday and was told when booking that kids eat free next week. Can this place get any better? I doubt it. Can’t wait to see you again next Sunday.More

Just seen on the pub website that it is closing as a pub. Now only working as a wedding and event centre. If it isn't open as a pub it isn't a pub its an event centre. Another rural pub casualty.More

My brother and his new wife got married at the Red Lion Newton yesterday and everything about it was absolutely beautiful. The ceremony and reception room was beautifully decorated, simple and elegant, and the garden outside was a lovely space for guests to chat and...for photos. The food was superb, and staff were great. Everything about the ceremony and reception was personal to the couple, and much nicer than the soulless weddings in some of the more well known venues. I would highly recommend the Red Lion as a great wedding venue choice.More

We’re staying locally and we’re recommended a visit to this pub. We were the only ones there for a while and it remained quiet. It’s quite old and had it not rained we’d have opted to sit outside. From the moment we arrived the staff...were lovely, so friendly and attentive. Our food arrived quickly and was fantastic. The portions were quite big and neither of us could fully finish our meals. I was charged for swapping my mash for chips which I thought was a bit cheeky but I know it happens sometimes. I had checked the website and social sites and there appeared to be a lunch time offer available but this wasn’t promoted anywhere on the day. Also the side dishes weren’t on the menu but we asked and were offered some. Overall, a lovely meal local to where we were stayingMore

Just been for Sunday Carvery. Family of 6. Such lovely, friendly staff in such a beautiful venue. Food was fantastic, hot, lots of choice of meats, veg, sauces and beautifully presented. Very clean everything. No waiting, staff make you feel like they are special and...valued. Outside the front there is lovely tables with a tree swing all covered in flowers, flowers on the tables outside. Toilets are clean and beautifully kept and maintained. There is the most gorgeous wedding venue attached to the rear which opens up on to a country garden. This is my first visit and I will be back. Such value for money too.More
