Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What fantastic find. Our first visit to the Boat Inn for my birthday lunch. Beautiful setting, next to the River Dee. Warm greeting when arrived at the well stocked bar, a nice selection of 4 real ales. We booked a table in one of the...small pub rooms instead of the main restaurant, really cosy. Menu was very extensive and spoiled for choice. Had a starter that was different, pork and black pudding croquettes with brown sauce, main pan fried lamb which was cooked perfectly. The service was excellent and friendly. Fully recommend and will be returning.More

Called in for drinks as we are going to be staying locally over Easter and have booked for Sunday lunch that weekend. Lovely place. Staff were amazing. Locals were lovely and friendly. The place was decorated beautifully. The outside space was gorgeous and on a...sunny day would be the place to while away some time. Looking forward to Easter 🐣More

Will definitely be back when we are visiting the area again. Oh and they allow dogs so our pup...could be apart of our evening.More

What a gem! We had an appointment at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital and we googled a local restaurant and we found The Boat! And we were so glad we did! We parked up - what a view! The weather was bad but...the view of the river snaking around The Boat was beautiful! The welcome was so warm and the food was delicious! A tasty treat for the taste buds! We opted for the beef bourgignon and lamb for mains and we both had the crumble for pudding! A taste sensation! The lady who took our payment was so lovely and unfortunately we didn’t take her name! But we wanted to thank her personally for an absolutely lovely experience!More

On the way back from Barmouth beech after taking our Jack Russell out for the day, we decided to vist the Boat, as I had herd good reviews from my local (The Combermere Arms). And.... oh wow! we wernt disappointed! What a lovely enchanting place....Staff were very accommodating, helpful and polite. The food was delicious. And the service was quick! Considering we were a walk in ( with our dog at 5.15pm ) we were on our way back home within the hour :) Thank you for a lovely dinner experience, we will be back!More

Had a really great experience on Christmas Eve - my birthday. Excellent location, friendly and professional staff and a really good pub and restaurant experience. I especially liked the "set up", where there was a very lively bar scene at one end of the premises...and a quality restaurant experience in the dining room at the other.More

We wnet out to celebrate a family birthday with a party of eight and two children. The meals were all superb and the staff were attentive and very helpful. THe childrens portions were just right and from entering the restaurant were were warmly greeted. The...chef and staff have it down to a fine art. The bar has a great range of ales and the wine list is extensive. We'll be sure to be back again. The position by the river would make it ideal for a walk and then a meal.More

The Boat crew were very busy with allot of parties, couples families and friends, but at no time did we feel alone and not being looked after. Very organised and the team follow every message you type on the booking. we asked for a table...for two in the cozy corner near a fire….and we got it😊 The menu is varied and really interesting and we think it more than matches the local quality Brunningham offerings. But the chef and crew at the Boat really do deliver high end quality…at an affordable price. The experience at a gorgeous river side location is worth the drive. Thanks to the Boat team for a lovely evening for 2🎯😊🏆More
