Had lunch with a friend . It was the first time I had been to the Boat Inn and was very impressed with the wonderful choice of dishes and the service was excellent . As it was such a beautiful day , we had coffee outside and watched the world go by. What a fabulous location ! If you havent... More

Had Sunday lunch here this week. Have had roots in this area for 30 years and cannot believe I've not been here before... Great setting on the banks of the Dee, salmon fishers wading downstream. Lovely traditional bar as you enter, with masses of seating outside by the river as well.. The owner is a lovely guy, and we had... More

We like this restaurant by the Dee, the food is always first class - if a little pricey. Inside there's a cosy, open-fire-low-beamed atmosphere whilst outside you can enjoy the beautiful setting next to the river. The wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the owner (imagine Rod Stewart's tanned older brother) usually does a meet and greet round the... More

Always an excellent meal be it quick lunch or a relaxing dinner. In the spring and summer it is very busy especially if you wish to have a table outside.

What a fantastic pub, love the history and they were very accommodating in getting us a table during a busy Sunday lunch time. Thanks also for the bespoke lunch you made for our 2 year old. Highly recommended for a visit, would suggest calling ahead and booking if possible.

Had a delicious lunch in this lovely old pub today. Set alongside the river Dee, with outside tables, well cared for lawns and spring flowers, it is a pretty spot at any time of the year. I had a spinach and mushroom risotto, which is probably the best I've had in this country, creamy and just the right texture. My... More

This pub is hard to find, and is a good drive down some country lanes. It is certainly worth it though, whether you are going for lunch, dinner or just a few drinks. Friendly staff and good food - more of a restaurant than a pub in the winter, but come summer when you can sit out by the beautiful... More

Very nice place just outside Wrexham town. Perfect for sunny evening. Right by the river bank with countryside atmosphere and peaceful location.

From walking in the door the staff were warm and welcoming and this was the case for the entire evening. Not our first visit, every time we have experienced the same , the food is delightful , top chef, and the portions are generous,a must visit if you are in the area.

Booked for a party of 15 people, we were seated in a room that was absolutely freezing, a fire was on in the room but wasn't warm enough to sit and enjoy your meal properly. We had prepaid a deposit for adults and children, only an adults menu arrived had to ask for children's even though they were sat at... More
