I was brought here for a meal for my birthday. The location is wonderful but unfortunately it was dark so I was unable to appreciate it! There weren't a lot of vegetarian options so I didn't have a lot of choice but the meal that I had was delicious and the portion size was great.

Really nice old pub with a good cosy atmosphere. Service was great. Most of the food was excellent but a few things weren't so good. Have had excellent meals here in the past. I think it was just some of the Christmas menu that was a little bit of a let down. The daily menu is great. It was busy... More

Staff and service fine , food not. Turkey tasted stale and warmed up , veg not to bad . At £77 for three people it isn't a cheap meal . But why did it feel like It was. Get your act together Cross Foxes .

This is an attractive road side pub and restaurant. It is not advertised as such but is one of the excellent Bunning & Price operation. Only had a drink in front of a wonderful log fire but the quality of the real ale and wine was a testament to the usual quality operation from this company. The menu looked excellent... More

I have visited this place together with my business partner on the way to Wrexham. We've especially driven several times to Cross Foxes for a lunch and dinner. For a guy from the continental Europe, it was a bit unusual to see that you need to order your food at the bar. I guess this is a local tradition, also... More

Reliably good food and service . Though menu rarely changes. Usually very busy, so best book. Better bet than the near by 'Boat Inn'. Certainly far friendlier

Guaranteed that you will never be disappointed here, once again a FAB lunch, the lamb is amazing but so is everything else on their extensive menu. We love the fact that they use local produce, everything is always beautifully prepared and served and the staff are FAB. Great selection of wines, gin and ales to suit all tastes. Always busy... This pub is a lovely place to visit as it's right next to the River, best seen in the daylight to appreciate the scenery but once it's dark,it's nice to go inside as there is a cosy log fire, it's a laid back pub with friendly staff. There is a good menu that can be viewed on line before you... More

Disappointed with the experience. All tables reserved in conservatory all other tables had dirty plates on so we squeezed onto a table. We ordered the salsa was chunks of tomato and pepper not nice. The rump sandwich had what was supposed to be onion chutney fried red onion with a weird taste. Husband had ravioli which was amazing but a... More
