Hubby and I booked a table for 6pm, and good job we did. Now Ian opens at 5.30, there were already 6 tables in use, and many more reserved. The young lady serving on the bar was efficient, pleasant and very organised. Dealing with food and drink orders on her own. As it was curry and a pint night -... More

Sunday lunch and drinks for eight of us with wales rugby on the telly in the background couldn't have got much better. The food was substantial and very well cooked. We all left feeling good, full and satisfied. It was served on large platters with plenty of choice so you won't go home wanting. It's a little off the main... More

We booked ahead and arrived on time. Whilst at the bar we were advised that we had to order our food and pay for our food and drink prior to taking our seat! We were shocked but had no intentions of not paying our bill so attended to what had been asked Food was fab - rib of beef for... More

I have visited the Ffrwdd on a few occasions over the last 2-3yrs and always had great homemade decent food. The waitresses are young and a little inexperienced but always try their best and are very pleasant. It's a little off the beaten track but once you visit this little gem, you will be back time and again. Lovely open... More

Although food tasted lovely, the veg was poor, mainly bowls of peas, meat fatty. Asked for a Yorkshire pudding for the 4year old and was refused as had lamb not beef. When ordering dessert asked for cream to be replaced with ice cream and got charged extra. 6 soft drinks cost over 14.00 and using cheap brand products. 2.50 charge... More

Wont be visiting again. Did not like having to stand by the door to read the menu. The food was good . Never have I been anywhere where I have had to pay for my food before I had got it, then to be charged£2.50 to pay by debit card.

If you want freshly cooked, quality home cooked gastro style food this is the place. Quality and quantity in equally proportioned measure. This place isn't a chain and I presume family run so retains a lot of charm. It is not pretentious at all with a few locals at the bar and very friendly staff. Some reviews have mentioned a... More

Well, what can I say...... Food was phenomenal, I had the steak & ale pie which was amazing followed by the sticky toffee pud & ice cream. Second time visiting and both experiences were first class. (By the way the portions are generous.) If you are in the area make sure you have cash on board your person and pop... More
