Called in on a whim for lunch. Had a great welcome, was able to choose our table, and had a wonderful meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely go back there and highly recommend this venue for lunch.
Really great characterful pub, often stop by in the summer for a beer by the river, Pubs like this are really lacking in this part of wales but there are a few little gems like this dotted around.More

Our third and final visit to this nice pub ended on a sour note. Having enjoyed a good meal and spent over £200, we were rudely asked to leave at 10.20pm as there was nobody else in the pub. The hospitality sector in rural Wales...complains that it is not viable. Learn some basic rules of hospitality and you may survive. Behave like the landlady of the Nag's Head and your business doesn't deserve to survive.More

We are on holiday and have an accredited assistance dog that wears his jacket. We have been to all manner of pubs and restaurants on our travels in wales and have always been met with support and enthusiasm for our dog who is well behaved...and small as he is a dachshund. Until this pub. We came here due to its reviews on trip adviser. Because we hadn’t booked I popped in to ask if they had a table and they confirmed they had, at this point I mentioned we had an assistance dog (at this point neither my wife nor the dog was with me). The waitresses looked horrified and due to not knowing what the response was referred me to a gentleman behind the bar. To say he begrudgingly acceded is an understatement, his tone and response was ‘yes that’s fine’ whilst clearly wanting to say no. I went and fetched my wife and our dog as they had waited in the car, to say I almost just got into my car and left is again an understatement however we were hungry and the place has good reviews. When we went in we were seated in an alcove reserved for stacking high chairs and clearly out of the way. Only upon paying was a positive vibe given towards our assistance dog who was being super cute and rolling on his back. The food was excellent, speed of service excellent and the location itself lovely. All of which for us was spoiled by a lack of enthusiasm to accept willingly assistance dogs. I can only imagine their dismay had he been a large Labrador. 5 stars for food and location, 2 stars for tolerance towards the equality act. Hence 3 stars overallMore

FRIDAY 27TH OCTOBER,MY HUSBAND GLEN AND I DROVE TO CENARTH FALLS TO CARRY OUT THE WINTER LAYUP AT OUR HOLIDAY CARAVAN,THE WEATHER WAS HORRENDOUS WITH THUNDER STORMS SO HEAVY THAT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD AHEAD.AFTER A SAFE ARRIVAL AND DOING WHAT WAS...NECESSARY AT THE CARAVAN WE CALLED FOR LUNCH AT THE NAGS HEAD IN ABERCYCH .THIS IS A LOVELY PUB THAT WE OFTEN VISIT FOR A MEAL OUT.DUE TO THE AWFUL WEATHER THE PUB WAS RELATIVELY QUIET,BUT WE WERE WELCOMED BY THE OWNER DEWI AND HAD A REALLY NICE MEAL OF FISH CHIPS MUSHY PEAS AND HOME MADE TARTAR SAUCE AND A GLASS OF ROSE WINE.WE WERE SEATED BY A LOVELY OPEN FIRE AND EVEN HAD CUSHIONS PROVIDED FOR OUR DELICATE BOTTOMS.THOROUGHLY ENJOYED OUR MEAL AND CHAT WITH MINE HOST. SO LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR NEXT VISIT.THANK YOU SO MUCH DEWI AND ZOE,VISIT WAS LIKE A RAY OF SUNSHINE ON A VERY RAINY DAY.HAPPYMore

My wife and dined her on Saturday night and it was utterly delightful: welcoming and attentive staff, warm and lively atmosphere and the food across the two courses we had was superb. Well seasoned, delicious and very more-ish. Also loved a couple pints of the...local beer. I’d definitely recommend and will rtn. Thank you.More
Thank for this amazing review and for recommending us so highly. You could be right with your comment of "Best in the West" as we have just won "Best Pub" at the prestigious Visit Pembrokeshire Croeso 2023 awards. Diolch.
I had the pleasure of staying at The Nags Head a few days ago. My first impression was what a beautiful pub in a lovely location. The inside more than matched the exterior. A beautiful layout with rustic furnishings. The staff were attentive and the...service was super fast. I ordered a small coffee and it came out what practically felt like seconds later. A bug bear is having to wait ages for table water. Again, literally seconds after we asked for water iy was on the table. Sounds minor but it's this level of detail that sets apart good from great places. Very impressive to say the least. Having read other reviews I admittedly had high expectations on the food. I was not disappointed. My wife and I both ordered the lamb and it was delicious, as were the starters. This was tasty good food that felt reasonably priced too given the quality. In summary I loved this place and hope to visit again should we ever return to the area some day. Thank you for helping to make our anniversary weekend as special as it was.More

Our last visit here was just after covid so sat outside then. This time we visited at lunchtime and so glad we did as what a gorgeous pub/restaurant serving locally sourced food and beers. Lovely selection of starters , mains and puddings well presented and...all at reasonable prices. Well worth a visit and we'll done to the owners for using locally sourced ingredients to help the local economyMore
