All four of us really enjoyed our meals. Friendly service and everything was spotlessly clean and a very pleasant atmosphere. Thank you. We look forward to another meal at the Groes Wen Inn.

We had a family meal here to celebrate an anniversary. The restaurant was quiet so it was disappointing that our order was taken incorrectly leaving 1 member of the party eating after the rest of us were almost finished. Having said that, the food was...excellent, the servers were friendly & the atmosphere is very nice. There isn't anything for the kids so be sure to bring your own entertainment such as card games/colouring books. We will return as a couple in the future because the menu is very good & the food tasted great!More

The menu is so varied, and the quality of food was incredible. The atmosphere is lovely- I love the log fire. Staff are really friendly, and the service is really quick and efficient. I was really impressed with the amount of options for those on...a gluten free diet.More

My sister and I love to visit this pub/restaurant when we are going to Chepstow. It has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, a great varied menu, and the prices are very competitive. The staff are very friendly and efficient and we are always given a warm...welcome. It is situated in beautiful countryside - and in my opinion is pretty near perfect.More

Staff and service was very good. The goats cheese starter was good if a little small, chicken milenese was a bit dry and lacked flavor but the beef bourgiugnon was disappointing very small potion and some of the beef was tough and grizzly. Deserts were...good.More

We come here fairly often for special occasions or meals out with friends as the staff are lovely and it's got a good atmosphere. We missed last year's Valentine's offer as we both ended up with COVID but came this time. The food tasted nice,...as per usual. Husband enjoyed his steak thoroughly and the sharing platter dessert was delicious. There were a few weird things this time though. The bruschetta starter plate itself was freezing cold which was a bit strange. It was most likely prepped and put in the fridge which is understandable if there are lots of covers, but this made the bread itself seem a little stale too. The chicken supreme with the risotto was one of our mains and whilst the chicken was hot, the risotto was lukewarm and the watercress completely wilted. We did notice our plates were sat under the heat lamp for a while whilst a takeaway order was dealt with so it may have just been a busy time, but we feel like the detail was missing on this occasion in particular. We will visit again as we enjoy the kebabs and the food in general, just maybe not on busy nights like Valentine's.More

Lovely food, friendly staff. Service was pleasant and not overbearing. Sirloin steak meal and Moroccan lamb meals were excellent. Desert was Rubarb crumble and sticky toffee pudding, both were very enjoyable. After meal coffee was warm, could have been hotter. Overall a pleasant evening and...will go again.More
