About
The Turkey Inn at Goose Eye is a traditional Yorkshire pub based near Haworth. Taken over by local residents Steve Mortimer and Fay Howell in November 2020, we wanted to transform The Turkey Inn into a welcoming, family and dog-friendly pub known for good pub food and real local ale. With roaring fires and lots of cosy corners to relax in, The Turkey Inn is the perfect place to unwind after a walk on the moors or a long day at work. Superb. We took friends over from Ireland to lunch here - on a cold, wet, bleak winters day - and was given a warm welcome, a table by a roaring fire and one of the nicest meals have had in a long time. The food...was superb, the staff friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere cozy and warm. We live quite nearby so will definitely be taking friends and family here in the future. Highly recommend.More

Fantastic meal. We had the spring rolls and the potato and spring onion fritters both were absolutely delicious and a very generous portion. Followed up with a roast, had both meats and they were both great - cooked perfectly and served with delicious sides. Not...too much on the plate to be over-faced but the perfect amount. Will definitely be back and will certainly come during the week too to try the evening menu. Lovely friendly staff and a perfect atmosphere. Busy but not overcrowded and a lovely fire that was kept topped up. Will be highly recommending.More

The latest menu is absolutely fantastic. We dined here twice in one week and the food and beer were amazing. Really lovely attentive happy staff, and the food just stunning. Every person in our party had something different from the menu and every person was...happy with their choice. Really really great food at reasonable prices and a nice cosy ambient atmosphere. Highly recommended for eats or drinks, just a cracking good place.More

A very pleasant pub and eatery here in Laycock. A great bar with a generous selection of real ales. A great selection on the menu as well. Dogs very welcome. The food was lovely. The staff friendly and welcoming. Well worth a visit if you’re...in the area. We booked our table in advance. Might be a good idea as it did get very busy.More

My sister and I came here today with a friend for her birthday, she had been here before, but our first visit. I have to say,I'm sorry we live in Thornton-Cleveleys, or we'd cone here more often, the food was excellent ,beautifully presented, but definitely for eating and not...just taking pictures of! My sister and I both had the steak and kidney pudding and it was a triumph, proper suet pastry, crisp outside and soft inside, with loads of meat and gravy ,delicious. All the staff were cheerful, friendly and efficient, and the place itself had a lovely, welcoming ambience, and important, the Ladies was clean and well maintained, always an important point. I read an earlier review which found it expensive, I would have to disagree, for the quality of the food and service we found it very reasonable, and would be happy to recommend others to visit.More

Had a fabulous Sunday lunch with the family here today. Exceptional care and attention given to a coeliac (gluten intolerance) in the party. Great to be dealt with without feeling like you're the difficult one, and to still have plenty of choice. Delicious food, beautifully...prepared, excellent service and in a lovely little village. Couldn't have asked for more. Thank you for looking after us so well. We will be back. 👍More

Nice selection of beer. My fish and chips were lovely, the fish was large and batter crispy and the chips were delicious. Nice mushy peas as well, but could have done with some nice tartare sauce to go with it. The wife’s roast dinner seemed...nice, though a bit mean with the amount of gravy offered (though she did get more when asked. My youngest kids meal was very good (chicken and chips) which she enjoyed and good value with ice cream for afters. The only real disappointment was my eldests meal. Being vegetarian the choice was a bit limited but she liked the crispy vegetable pancakes. It turned up as one large pancake which resembled something like a slightly burnt omelette and not what we were expecting and looked poor especially for nearly £16 it looked quite unappealing. She didn’t complain but if I’d been served it I would have sent it back. The only negative in a generally good experience. Dog friendly which is a bonus. The pudding were nice, but again a bit mean with the custard!More

This was just as great as the previous reviews suggest...we had an excellent Sunday lunch for 3 generations and a small puppy ! Brilliant food , service, atmosphere and drinks...great value ,too. I was ashamed that I could only manage 2/3rds of my excellent roast...beef... and sadly we were returning to Staffordshire the next day so a doggy bag wasn't really appropriate (although it was offered!). Will definitely return when we're visiting the family again.More

Came here for a family meal (5 of us) - mains & desserts. The service is faultless and fantastically friendly and the food was outstanding (3 rump steaks with rocket/manchego salad and truffle fries (with a garni) and 2 homemade steak & ale pies) -...absolutely delicious. The desserts were equally as tasty (peanut butter chocolate brownie cheesecake and a sticky toffee pudding)! All washed down with lovely wine and beer and a cosy environment! We'll definitely be back and would highly recommend to anyone wanting great food, great service and a top place!More

Great old fashioned pub with a good selection of beers and fantastic food. Only negative being that the car park has a limited number of spaces.
