We were recommended the restaurant by the owner of a cottage we'd rented nearby. Even though it was busy (on a Tuesday!) a table was found for us without a reservation. Food was very good and a small issue with our starters dealt with in...More

We were warmly welcomed and well served on our visit. There was space outside and we enjoyed a pleasant meal on the patio. This didn't affect the quality of the service which was attentive - often you have to go to the bar yourself if...More

Warm welcome from Ruth and her team and great cuisine from Chef partner in the kitchen. Like the specials for variety. Cote du boeuf on Friday a triumph enjoyed by two humans and my spaniel who spent hours enjoying the rib bone.

New management, so decided we'd give it another go, having not visited for food for a while. The menu looked sufficiently tempting to stay and we were early, mid-week, so got a table immediately. Our meals were much better than on our previous visit and...More

Went here 3 times whilst working in the area. Each visit was lovely with excellent food and service. The menu isn't huge but everything on there tastes really good. Definitely worth a visit if passing.

Description
Located in the picturesque village of Wansford, nine miles from the city of Peterborough, The Paper Mills Country Pub and Restaurant offers hearty food in a charming rural setting whether you are looking for a relaxed drink and classic pub grub in the bar or a more formal dining experience in the restaurant.

In the winter while away a chilly evening by our roaring fire with a pint of our real ale and in the summer enjoy a chilled glass of rose amidst the historic charms of Wansford in one of our many outdoor seating areas.

The stone-built rustic surroundings serve to enhance the locally sourced seasonal menu and carefully chosen selection of cask ales and fine wines creating a welcoming atmosphere for both locals and visitors.

Food Served Monday to Saturday 12noon-2.15Pm and 6.00Pm-9.00Pm and Sunday from 12noon - 4pm.

Our Head chef creates an extensive menu that epitomises country pub dining. Changed daily to ensure that you receive the best of the seasons. There is something for all tastes, from succulent belly of pork to delicate whole plaice.

We work closely with our suppliers, who are committed to provenance and fair trade to bring only the best produce to your plate.

The bar features a great choice of real ales and wines. We provide a selection of local ales from local suppliers such as Digfield and Oakham. Our resident ale is London Pride which is extremely popular with our locals. We are always searching for new and interesting wines from many local wine merchants creating an extensive wine list with something for every pallet.
