We had roast chicken, Sunday lunch. What a tasteless, un-appetising meal. No evidence of any herbs or seasoning of any kind. The Yorkshire pudding was like cardboard, roast potatoes quite greasy, meat completely tasteless and an un-appetising mixture of fried carrot, parsnip and swede sticks...More

This place has really gone down hill. To be honest I preferred it when it was a more traditional pub and it was all done up. To be honest the whole village has gone downhill and there are some awful 'common' folk about - one...More

Service can be hit and miss here, there doesn’t often seem to be a managerial presence or consistent staff working. However the food is fantastic and we would highly recommend the restaurant for this.

We stopped here on a busy Sunday, the staff were great, dogs very welcome (even have a range of doggie food and beer). We all had a great meal, the suet steak and kidney pudding was lovely, would certainly go back just for this!

Under new ownership since my previous visit, The Maltsters is now looking much cosier and smarter, and feels much more welcoming than it used to. The outside area has been revamped, with a pizza area and lots of seating and all looks very attractive. The...More
