The location is a little bit featureless, yet with a great playground for children (and in any case, the only acceptable food resource close to Machrie Moor Standing Stones). We had: Soup of the day, Skipness Smokehouse salmon with homemade bread, and one of the...More

Beautiful venue. Clean. Cheerful staff. Delicious food. A hidden gem on the western shore of the Isle of Arran near the hauntingly beautiful standing stones.

Like so many places on the island it is off the beaten track but don't be put off. The food is great and service with a smile. There is a clothes shop next door which sells quality clothing. Worth looking around.

Cafe Thyme (part of the Old Byre Visitor Centre) provided us with tasty lunches today. The Haggis Pide was excellent as was the smoked salmon. Each was served with ample fresh salad. The Cafe was warm and welcoming.
