I had dinner food was gorgeous. Waitor wore a mask hanging from one ear. Another had a mask around her neck. Third member didn't wear any. A group of diners freely walked around with no masks & one freely coughing. As soon as I ate...dinner I left felt uncomfortable. And at risk of catching covid. As I said food was lovely & decor relaxing. I know will worry for 2 wks thinking I could have caught covid. No meal is worth that.More

Visited with family. Warm welcome and friendly staff. Food quality was just ok, service could have been better, however I just couldn’t understand why the staff didn’t wear masks- not one of them. This is a legal requirement in Scotland and had been completely disregarded....I actually mentioned this when paying the bill, and was told ‘we do wear them but it’s difficult to keep taking them on and off’. Wasn’t one in sight! No details taken of our identity for tracking purposes either. I know it’s a pain to follow these rules, but they’re there for a reason and may actually keep hospitality open this winter!More

I went here for dinner while staying locally and the food was delicious. The staff and atmosphere were warm and friendly. I had scallops then the steak pie. Both were very tasty I couldn’t finish the pie was so filling the meat was so tender....If I’m ever back in the area would definitely be back.More

Had lunch at the Kirkstyle Inn on Father’s Day. Had expected a proper Sunday roast on the menu but this wasn’t an option, just the usual pie, fish & chips and burger etc. which was disappointing for a Sunday lunchtime and the occasion. Lovely atmosphere,...friendly staff and service excellent. The Inn has great charm and decor. The food, mainly sourced locally, was delicious. Would come more often if the menus was more varied. Worth the trip.More

Excellent dinner at a traditional village pub Good choice of food, tough decision but choose tempura prawns to start with chilli sauce (5 yummy juicy ones) Then proper scampi for me and Kirkstyle homemade steak pie with mash and mushy peas. Too full for dessert...but might call back tomorrow after golf. They also do pizzas which if we were in the area longer would love to try Friendly staff who were very busy but still had a smile and time to make you feel welcomeMore

Phoned midweek and booked a table for 10 people on Sunday, 22nd at 6.00pm. When we arrived no one seemed to know about our booking. However we were told to head to the function room. We were then moved to the lounge for drinks. Our...order was taken and our two older grandchildren asked if it was possible to have the macaroni cheese without the smoked fish and were told yes. However when the waitress brought our food she had two children’s macaronis, the girls are aged 12 and 15 so therefore the portions were far too small, only a small bowl of macaroni and nothing to replace the fish they didn’t want, a few chips would have been nice. When we mentioned it to the waitress she tried to tell us they were actually adult portions!!!!! We also ordered 4 x fish and chips , 3 large portions and one small but apart from being on a bigger plate one large portion was the same as the small one. Decided not to stay for dessert as it took so long to get our main course, we finished eating two and a half hours after we arrived. I know they were busy but things seemed to go wrong from the minute we arrived. An apology wouldn’t have gone amiss. I must say we were so very disappointed as we had heard only good reports about the Kirkstyle but we definitely won’t be back.More

We ate here on two Friday nights in August with some family and friends, after a couple of previous visits my only comment were the main course plates were always a bit cool for me, both times we had a great meal, spring rolls were...very tasty scallops were cooked perfectly, rib eye both times spot on, and everyone round the table passed comment at how good it was, we even managed a cheese and port course before we left, cheese cut thicker would be nicer though, not a negative just my thoughts, staff were really good, attentive but not in your face, highly recommend a visit for sure, rmbr to book firstMore
