Visited during a long walk with tired kids and dogs. Warm welcome, spacious table and great menu. Lots of local ales, the pub is sister to the Tennents Arms at Kilnsey well with a visit. The food was good and varied with a broad range of cuisines and options. Kids meals were good and reasonable portion. The local pies and... More

We enjoyed Easter Sunday lunch at the Black Horse . Roast beef very good , thick like a steak with big Yorkshire pudding and lots of vegetables - delicious . Some of the desserts need a fifteen minute wait to cook and we were glad of that to give main course time to digest !

I went here for a meal with my family on the first night of our holiday. We were a group of 11, so contacted the hotel a week prior to our visit. After waiting for an hour and a half for our meals during which time, no member of staff spoke to us or said there would be a delay,... More

Thank you for your review. I am aware of the night in question as I was the one who actually dealt with your party that evening. Unfortunately due to an overwhelming amount of people eating with us that evening and a chef having not been able to attend work that day things got a little out of control and the... More

Best pub by a country mile in Grassington village, friendly staff, friendly customers, good beer, nice vibe about the place, didn't eat as we had already eaten but will next time.

Sat in the restaurant part to eat at it was quite busy-quiz night! Menu had a decent range of pub food and the specials looked good too. My burger was lovely although the homemade coleslaw was simply finely chopped veg! My other half choose from the specials, pulled pork hot dog, and whilst it was pleasant, not worth £13. Enjoyable... Thank you for your review. I am glad that you enjoyed your meal with us and apologise that you did not find the meals value for money but we are priced in line with other local establishments. The "coleslaw" on the burger is advertised as "slaw" as it is not the traditional coleslaw with mayonnaise but I do hope you... More

We have had several trips to Grassington and eaten at just about every pub, restaurant and café. The Black Horse is best by far.

Walking group only experienced a single meal here. The lunchtime ambience was good, the service was also good. All chose the Cheese and onion pie, with Black Horse ale. All deemed it a good choice.

A first-rate pub, with a blazing fire, a good range of beers and excellent home-cooked food. It’s a place where visitors can easily mingle with locals (this often happens in Yorkshire pubs, but occasionally doesn’t…); live music (Tuesdays) and a quiz night (Wednesdays) guarantee conviviality and good humour all round. The pub is openly dog-friendly, and, although this wouldn’t have... More

Came here as staying local to the area. The restaurant was full and had a nice atmosphere. We had mains and deserts and the food was fantastic so tasty and a reasonable price. The portions were also very well sized. The staff were friendly enough though we did get a little tired of overhearing them constantly talking about how busy... More
