Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This def felt like a locals dinner hang out with friends n family. We shared many tapas here for dinner. At lunch there seems to be a buffer, but dinner it changes to tapas. Wide variety of flavors but you can still get large entrees....We had “barnacles” for the first time, weir little guys u had to hook out of their hole. Service was fine, no issues. Def need reservations.More

Food was OK, unfortunately the service was really bad. I wouldn't recommend this place at all especially considering how many other great places there are around.

This restaurant is very popular and deservedly so. (When I finished my dinner, I saw a sign by the door saying they were fully booked.) This is a place to go for local cuisine. I enjoyed the Azorean beef, followed by a lemon merengue tart....Service and food were excellent.More

Awesome food, lovely service! Could have a few more vegetarian options, though. Thank you. We’ll be back again.

Make your reservation here!! We ate here twice and I will miss their fava beans! Friendly staff and you are welcomed like family. The menu has great selection and our favourite dishes were the tuna bites, octopus salad, fava beans (my husband thought he hated...fava beans when we arrived on Pico), sausage baked with blackberry jam…I could go on and on but just book a table and you won’t be disappointed. Beware the sliding glass door. Everyone tries to push it and you have to SLIDE it. Replace the door is my only recommendation!More

One of the best buffet restaurants I’ve ever been to. The quality of the food, the kindness of all the staff and at reasonable prices. It’s definitely a must-go 🤩

Hands down the best Restaurant we have been to on our trip to the azores. While some others come close in either food, service or ambiente, none managed to have all 3 things as good as here. First: book a Table at least one day...in advance or try your luck an hour or 1 1/2 after they opened;) We have been there three times at the evening during our stay on Pico, went through 3/4 of the menu and ejoyed every bit we got! If you do not know what to pick, ask them for a recommendation! And try the fish of the day and the housewine and the tuna bites and the fried squid... and... jeah.. everything you can fit into your stomach;) And I want to point out the excellent, friendly, kind, competent, lovely service. We felt very welcome and enjoyed having the privilege being guest of those lovely people! Thank you so much, Chris and Dani!More

This was one of our top two meals on Pico. Our group of four adults had a carafe of house white wine, the grilled fish of the day (bluemouth rockfish), local steak with peppercorn sauce, regional steak (in a white wine and garlic sauce, topped...with red pepper and a fried egg), and grilled squid in a garlic butter sauce made with fish stock. For dessert, we had “Portuguese sawdust,” which turned out to be alternating layers of whipped cream and crushed shortbread cookies. We enjoyed the neighborhood restaurant ambiance, service, and all the food.More

What a lovely restaurant. Just googled and found this restaurant. A 15 walk from the centre. We had cheese, breafs and Olives to start, then a well cooked steak and great coffee. Lovely service. Would highly recommend.

The restaurant offered buffet or menu. We went for the menu to have a selection of seafood. Service was very friendly and helpful. Seafood was excellent and local style. We never had such a tender breaded octopus. Also the calamari and tune bites were delicious....What we liked best was that the majority dishes were coming in tapas sized dishes, which allowed us to try different ones. Overall a great seafood experienceMore

We had dinner here twice because the food was so good. The fresh fish, simply grilled, was the best we've ever had! Service was good, prices were reasonable. Short walk from our hotel. Highly recommend!

This family owned and operated Tesca serves traditional Portuguese food that you won't find anywhere else in Portugal. I have been living in Lisboa for the past 30 months, and I tried hundreds of restaurants, but nothing can get even close to the deliciousness and...the quality of the food and the service. The couples who owned the restaurant work in the kitchen, and their beautiful and friendly daughter waiters around. We were on the island for 4 days, and we ate every single night there. We tried most of the dishes, and we weren't disappointed not even once. You can tell that the food is made with so much love and passion, and you can literally close your eyes, put your fingure anywhere on the menu and order. You definitely need to book your table in advance as they were sold out almost every night.More

A super cozy restaurant with quick and friendly staff - reservations needed though. The food was excellent, and the octopus salad in particular is recommendable. In addition to this, they had an all-azorean wine card with some lovely local wines on it, and it was...very affordible.More
