Everything about The Poplars is truly amazing. The food is out of this world. The service is always top notch. This is why it's our favourite place to eat and the reason we return regularly.

Good all round experience. Food excellent and log fires made for superb atmosphere. The pub is dog friendly which is important to us. Definately back on our radar.

Always great food, always great service. You'll have to reserve a table on the busier days, but that's always a great sign of a good, proper pub.

The location of the Poplars makes it an ideal country pub.. The bar and restaurant are clean and tidy. Overall very welcoming , at the time of visit , the Christmas decs added the seasonal feel. The menu was what you would expect, just a shame the specials board didn't have a couple more. The Sunday roast , was good... More

Visited The Poplars on a Sunday lunchtime with a large family group. Despite the popular pub being busy they ensured we were seated straight away and we didn't have to wait long for our order to be taken or food to arrive. The food was all home cooked which was so much nicer than bland pub chains who microwave everything.... More

Came for my birthday meal with family and enjoyed a delicious, well priced meal of Sea Bass with fresh local vegetables and new potatoes. There is a wide choice of items on the menu and the specials board included such items as Kangaroo steak. Good selection of ales and ciders and a lovely ambiance. The staff were very friendly and... Returned as I said we would when in the area again. 4 of us again and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Lamb shank, fillet steak, pork belly and liver. Only small gripe was my wife's liver wasn't hot enough. It was returned with no problem and a fresh plate of food came back (not microwaved original plate that was taken... More

This is our family's regular venue for 'Special Occasions'. Today was Mum's 93rd. As always the welcome, Staff, food, drinks and vfm were excellent. The staff were happy to provide something not on the menu and the dessert even had a candle to mark the occasion. The Specials Board, as always, offered numerous options not on the normal menu and... We booked for 3 on a Wednesday lunchtime. 2 cods with chilli, new potatoes and fresh vegetables and 1 liver, onion and mash with bacon. The food was good quality, hot and well presented. Staff were friendly, and the only negative was we had to go to the bar to order which was a shame as it was a special occasion.... More
