Breakfast. Very small portion (Hate to see the small breakfast size) sassage yes one was about 2” long. A small spoonful of beans a tiny egg and a couple of other small items. Then the price madness two coffee two breakfasts £33:70 lol
We went there with 3 hungry kids for a late lunch after visiting wonderful Dartington Hall and estate... But: Food is overprized esp. considering small portions, but okay. NOT okay, though: to have a kids menue, pricey as well, which sounds nice but is lacklustre...at best! A cold, small half sandwich, with a tiny piece of ham + 2,3 petit pieces of cucumber and pepper as salad. Check out price tag and flowery description of this sad ensemble on their menue if you so wish... Bottom line: Avoid, if possible, and go to Dartington Cafeteria or pub instead.More
Live within thirty minutes of the cafe. But yesterday it had lost its way, sadly! Got our drinks and cheese scone order in. Then we took our drinks to the table. And waited and waited for scone to arrive… Almost 20 min later and tea...now drunk. It arrived Microwave beyond Hot ! Yuck Butter packs had melted too . It was rubbery and not nice when we took a bite. So didn’t eat it. We were not asked if we wanted it warmed up as we would if said no. I mentioned it to a tall young man who was clearing tables. He said he would be back with a cold one… But that didn’t happen so we gave up after another ten min wait and went home. What a shame as this was our always go to on the way home from shopping in Totnes .More
Thought we'd pop down to Dartington not been for a while, had a nice walk along the wooded paths so thought it was time for a spot of lunch. Just a light lunch of panini and a coffee, must say the coffee was delicious, as...for the food well ok but well over priced for what you got. Now for the service. TERIBLE is the way I can describe it. As I said above the coffee was really good so I thought I'd have a second cup. After ordering/ paying and about a 20 minute wait, still no coffee arrived, I went to the counter and asked a member of staff what is the delay, seemed they lost my order, she had to check the till ( they still couldn't find my order slip ). Eventually they found my order in the system. Now wouldn't you think that now after at least half an hour had elapsed one of the staff would prioritise my coffee. No! not the case in fact the woman making the coffee's started on a large to go order. A couple on the next table could not believe what was happening and suggested they should compensate me for the lack of professionalism. Would we go back or recommend this cafe I'm afraid not.More
Stopped for lunch with family whilst on holiday. Friendly staff, good portions, very dog friendly the waitress brought a puppuccino for our dog, a lovely tough
Oh dear charged more but the portion sizes are halved very disappointed sadly won't be going again used to be lovely if you are hungry or want value for money don't go here
Was visiting with friends which I have done on many occasions. To be told you no longer have a gluten free option. The new manager behind the counter informed me she has never seen a gluten free menu since she started. But offered me the...vegan option from the menu. Which I'm not sure why she thought that was a good option. So thought I'd go with the chips option to find you no longer offer these either. Was very disappointed and won't be returning. My friends were disappointed with the coffee too. Has the brand changed. Wasn't as nice as before. I ended up popping to the deli in the food shop, which had lots of gluten free options.More
First time to BK for a while and was shocked at prices.Three coffees and a scone £16. The scone was £4.Yes £4.Other items just as bad.Unbelievable!
Over half an hour till they close but all cappuccino’s and tea in paper cups and cakes inc mince pies & cream in cardboard boxes. Food ok but totally spoilt by presentation. When we enquired where were the mugs, cups and plates we were told...“ We do close in just over half an hour…….” Thanks but no thanks - might as well get a takeaway. Won’t go again.More
Two coffees and one cheese scone came to over £12! The scone was £4.50, didn’t realise until I came to pay. No heating on it seemed, very cold inside. Always come here when we come to Dartington but prices have gone through the roof and...very few specials such as the chowder available. A tea cake here costs £4, later in the day it was £1.80 at the Countryman Cafe near Ivybridge. Unlikely to returnMore
massively overpriced , 2 coffees and a couple of not very nice cakes £16.00 !!!! added to which the young woman serving was surly at best Only positive note was that the barista seemed more customer focused
We went there for lunch. Ordered the last pain au chocolate, a toasted tea cake and panini. The waitress dropped the pastry, at least they didn’t try to serve it and was refunded. Unfortunately, the toasted tea cake never came so staff had to be...reminded I was waiting. I therefore had it after other meals had been finished and my drink. Expensive and very unremarkable.More
I had a coffee and cake here a month ago and was pleased, so returned today to try the breakfast. Attractive decor/atmosphere, very pleasant service and good breakfast and coffee. I hope to become a regular customer.
We came with friends for a cooked breakfast, and had been told great things about the place. A mistake was made and our meals were forgotten and so there was a long wait. Before I could say anything however, the staff came over apologised, organised...a refund and then the food arrived. The food was delicious, well prepared and presented and what fantastic customer service. We are regular visitors to the area, and we will be coming here again for definite. Thank you very much and well done to all the staff who were particularly busy at the time as well. Very happy customers here.More
