There are two parts to the Restaurant in La Encarnacion the formal silver service and the Gin Garden. Both are wonderful but this is reviewing the Gin Garden.
We had always assumed that both parties served the same menu however this year we sat in the Gin Garden and the menu is less formal and less expensive. There is a lovely selection of tapas and the prices are reasonable. You are right on the sea so the view is wonderful.
We will make this one of our go-to's for lunch in Los Alcázares.

Even though we arrived late, after 10pm in the middle of winter, they welcomed us and gave us dinner without any problems. The reactions are truly abundant, both the paella and the fried calamari. Prices slightly above average

This sea front restaurant turned out to be a great choice. We ate a super and excellent value lunch for c. 25 euros each (3 starters, bread, main, pudding, coffee, water). The restaurant inside is gorgeous with a fabulous riad type courtyard. The service was excellent with great relaxed atmosphere. Also drinks and tapas section outside. If we stayed longer, this would be our go-to place.

The absolute worst restaurant visit on this trip. Stressed staff running between the tables and have not the slightest control and place food wrong a number of times at several tables.
Before we have even been served, a waiter spills a plate of food over me and my clothes were on the waiter not bothering to say sorry, but instead gives me 3 napkins and then runs away again.
The food is about the same level as the one you get on the plane or at a debatable snack bar.
Dry fish, uncooked frozen vegetables, mashed potatoes instead of seafood that the food would have and a meat that is so tough that you can not cut with a meat knife.
Points out all these things and shows my white clothes that are no longer white to the person responsible and gets the answer that there is nothing at all that they can do when a compensation would go from the waiters own pocket.
During the dinner, the waiter mixed up our table and the neighboring table's food several times and when paying, the bill was also mixed up.
Throughout the stay, the person is very careless and when pointing out the obvious mistakes, the staff and manager are very unpleasant.
Do not recommend this set to anyone.
There are many fine restaurants nearby, this is not one of them.

The setting is very nice but misleading!
Insufficient price / Award ratio.
The dishes are somewhat unpleasant and untasteful. Very disappointing octopus.
Aperitif are not expensive but you get your money’s worth: very little alcohol in cocktails!! Avoid the Spritz it's awful!
The waiters are unkind and the service very average: errors in orders, we are not served at the same time , plates are placed in the middle of what remains of the aperitif. We called for riddance ....
In Los Alcazarez there is much better so go your way.

Ugh, we were expecting something better, the waiter didn't convince me and I ordered a plate of ham which seemed very expensive for what it was. And the rice was a poultice, plus the waiter wrote down what we ordered wrong and brought out different rice than the one we ordered. When we told him that the one we had ordered was vegetables with cod flakes and there was no cod there, he told us that the Murcia orchard had noted that it could be that he had written it down wrong. Not an apology. I was right to ask for ham, otherwise I would have had an allergic reaction. The site well located facing the sea. The fast service.

Upon first sight, this hotel/ restaurant looks appealing and interesting. There is an internal area which is filled with character.
We decided to have dinner here and opted for tapas as we fancied local delicacies.
What a mistake it was. The service was awful, slow and the staff were totally disinterested in their customer service/hospitality job.
The tapas were very poor. Cold meat balls, overcooked chicken and tasteless frozen chips. The croquettes were average at best.
Plenty of other choice in the area and I would most definitely avoid the tapas choice.
Other parts of this establishment may well be better but the tapas section needs a complete overhaul- Find another chef and service staff.

This place came highly recommended by friends and unfortunately it was a disappointment. The view is gorgeous. The food was not hot and the calamari was overcooked. For a restaurant of this calibre, the service with Adrian was terrible. We got our drinks right away but then he ignored us even when we got eye contact. When we ordered he was impatient and he never returned, not once asking how the food was or if we needed more drinks or anything else. Other very happy and energetic waiters served our food and we were able to ask them for the bill. Adrian returned with the bill and said nothing.

We had evening drinks here twice, which was lovely. The view of the beach is excellent! They do have a funny international pop playlist on outside, but we didn’t mind.
The waiters were mostly attentive, but more so in the restaurant itself.
Since enjoying the place so much for drinks, we decided to have dinner too. This is where it went a bit down hill…
The menu reads like a 70’s British restaurant, with prawn Mary rose style starters and lumps of meat for mains. Prices are completely out of sync with others in the area and was not justified.
The inside of the restaurant and courtyard was very pretty, though not with views of the beach (you can get this if you sit in their gazebo area (still nice)).
Definitely would return for an evening drink but not to eat.

So came in for a quick breakfast with the family as it was the last day before going back to London. Ordered food and hot drinks. As my wife was drinking her Cappuccino she later found that there was a small whole cockroach in her drink. We made the waiter aware of the issue. She then called one of her coworkers and she explained that it must be in the hot chocolate. We then try to explain that it was in the Cappuccino. She then said that they will investigate it and will give another Cappuccino as a replacement. My issue here is that the new Cappuccino came to our table after a few minutes. Which means that the coffee machine was not even checked or cleaned before the new Cappuccino was made. Numerous hot drinks was made during our stay. I work in a restaurant/bar/cafe and the first thing to do in this instance is apologize to the customer who made the aware of the issue (did not happen), explain what they are supposed to do next (review which they did), stop the service of hot drinks until the machines had been cleaned (did not happen). I know that there are insects in the actual beams of the coffee (10% of most batches). But having a full cockroach is unacceptable. Anyway if this gets deleted I will post again. Thank you.

very nice and pleasant location - table setting top as well as service.
Ordered with 6 paella which was a big disappointment for all of us: stuffing far from possible, lots of tuna which was dehydrated and therefore chewy, the rice was good in taste
go back sometimes to try something else, but certainly no more paella

Restaurante La Encarnacion was a major disappointment for our final lunch during this visit.
As usual the food quality and presentation was excellent but on this occasion the customer service was well below expectations. I highlight the lead waitress as the source of our discontent.
We had the audacity to ask for the menu del dia having only been given the a la carte menu. This simple ask appeared to irk the lady. My wife does not eat pork/ham and we discussed this and yet the salad arrived with pieces of ham. Our seafood paella arrived with clam shells unopened. When I tried to point this out after 3 attempts I was again treated with disdian at having to point out an obvious error. The waitress arrived back with recooked clams which had been microwaved and not so much as an apology was muttered.
Once our lunch was completed I attempted to speak to the hotel general manager "Alfonso" who to my utter disbelief was 100% not interested in his customer. He lacked any empathy, suggested he did not speak any English (which I am suspicious about) and even after I had Google translated my concerns he had the audacity to tell me to calm down ! We will not return as Murcia now has many and a growing number of fine restaurants. Beware if you only speak English - I sensed the Brits are not welcome 😟
PS I do not want a standard reply from a hotel receptionist telling me they will learn lessons as has been cut/paste many times on other Trip Advisor feedback notes for this restaurant. Thanks.

Called in as looking for a more up market meal.
Very disappointed in the quay lite of the food the prices and the atmosphere.
Paid €16.95 for prawns inGarlic, I love these and dosnt mind paying extra for what I thought was going to be quality, how wrong I was.
Also paid €19.80 for a warm fish salad, a few prawns, a few scallops on a bed of lettuce from a bag.
Chopitos costing € 14.85 on a bed of onions with iberico ham so hard it was inedible.
Can honestly say I’ve had better food a Casa Pedro cafe.
Most definitely won’t be returning.
Staff came across as though they didn’t want to be there.
Nice for tostada and a coffee in a morning and that’s it

Went for some tapas and drinks, service was good, we ordered 2 pina coladas and as had been made together I had all the froth and no actual drink. And the breaded chicken was burnt chewy and dry and the meatballs were like out of a Heinz tin and bland tomato sauce, they were cold, the bread was looked like part baked buns which hadn’t been baked. Just a really disappointing experience. The large beer was not a full glass and just generally not a great draft beer.

The staff was unpolite and also ignored us when standing in line for a table. We had three different courses, my daughter ordered lamb chops which which were only bones. I had a sole which was ok, with no taste, vegetables totally overcooked. My other daughter ordered tornadous and asked for well done and got rare. We have visited this restaurant several times during 10 years, but it has really declined in service and taste. We love the atmosphere In Los Alcazares but they really need to shape up. Totally overpriced
