Lovely setting looking across the river. Staff are attentive and friendly. Ordered Eggs Benedict and couldn't fault them, you get a decent sized plate of food. Very reasonable prices. Not a huge amount of variety on the breakfast menu but yummy cabinet food available as well. Very good coffee.

We stopped into Riverside Cafe for lunch on a sunny day. We were cycling the Great Taste Trail & you can easily glide into this place & rest your weary buns as it is right beside the Trail at the juncture with Community Road where you start your uphill climb along Tasman Valley Rd. The cafe is a delightful series... More

Such a relaxed place and it seems far away from tourists...food from the cabinet was yummy and staff very friendly. Besides it is within a farm and you can buy fresh milk.

The food was absolutely fabulous, the coffee was a tiny bit weak, but not bad, and the service was excellent, fast, friendly and welcoming, giving the place a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

I visited here last weekend with my son and family. What a lovely setting in all old villa in the countryside at a commune where much of the produce is grown. The garden is set up with tables as well as cosy nooks inside where a fire made it warm and inviting. A great little playground kept our 2 year... More

Winner of Wild Tomato magazine's best regional rural restaurant 2010 and recommended by both North and South and Cuisine magazines, Riverside Cafe is an integral part of the historic Riverside Community (est.1941). We serve fantastic fair-trade coffee, and a delicious selection of home made cakes, slices and our amazing brioche, with gluten free options always on offer. Our seasonal menu includes Tasman specialities, wild meats, great vegetarian options and lots of produce from the extensive Riverside gardens, plus superb wines from the plethora of vineyards in the Moutere area. You can dine al fresco in our lovely garden or on our sheltered deck area, or grab a table inside the historic cafe (built 1860) and be inspired by the local art which adorns the walls! A unique and wonderful cafe, offering a very warm welcome. We are open 7 days a week from 9.30 To 4.30Pm, plus open for dinner on Saturdays evenings. We will open both Fridays and Saturday evenings from Dec, and throughout summer: please call to check our evening opening dates to avoid disappointment!
