Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I’ve been coming to Sea Pebbles for more than twenty five years. Both takeaway, but mostly dining and I’ve always enjoyed the food, freshly cooked to order. The staff and owners are humble and always welcoming. Lastly, yes prices have gone up everywhere and here...is no exception. But for quality of food and safety it is worth it. I high recommend this place.More

Fish was poor quality and watery and chips had unpleasant flavour. Would no longer feel able to recommend.

We visited on the recommendation of friends and so didn't read the reviews before we went. Now I've come to write a review I have seen what other diners think I am very surprised people were not satisfied. Our own experience was that the dining...area was spotlessly clean which gave a good first impression, even the Heinz Ketchup bottle was gleaming on the table. The order was taken promptly by friendly staff and our drinks came up quickly. Our friends both chose haddock and chips. They are fish and chips experts and enjoyed it very much. We chose grilled skate and chips. The skate had been nicely trimmed, was a meaty portion and tasted really good, loved the chips too. Fish and chips has gone up in price but this is hardly surprising as a piece of fish itself is expensive to buy, so overall the prices were reasonable. We were full but most of us managed to squeeze a pudding in too. If we lived closer we would visit more often but if you are in the area I'd definitely recommend a visit.More

Very very expensive and not worth it. My husbands prawn cocktail smallest portion and smallest prawns we ever have seen. The chips on all four plates were not cooked enough. I had a vegan burger which reminds me of something in the 70s soggy veg...inside. The bun was dry like cardboard. The chips were awful. I hardly ate any of it. Can of coke nearly £3 a small bottle of Keo far too expensive. The bill for four was almost £100. Perhaps if they cut down on too many staff standing around and made the food more edible and less expensive would be a good idea.More

After a long day we were in need of some quick hot food. At first the restaurant seemed very welcoming and friendly. Service was quick and as you can see we ordered 2 x plates of houmous. Generous serving, all good. The prawn cocktail we...assumed was around £5 (never assume) when checking the bill it was £6.95. Nowhere near the value. It’s a shame we didn’t check. Now as you can see via our bill we chucked in a few cheap sides. Bread & Butter etc. I am vegan but was just happy to sit down and eat anything albeit a chip butty. No buttered rolls are on offer here yet I did notice my mums burger was in a nice bun so asked for one of those. But anyway… rambling on. Our end bill was near to £100. To sit in a cafe. To be honest I had no idea a can of Coke would be £2.95. Also the really small bottles of Keo £3.95 are a complete joke. What really got me was the waitresses all gossiping about us as we were flabbergasted by the bill which I will attach below. I bet they would not spend their evening being ripped off like us served average food. Average chips. Should have sent them back to be crisped up. But didn’t want to make a fuss. Told them on the way out we felt ripped off and they couldn’t care less. The world has gone mad. Nothing here reminds me of the Greek community I know and love.More

Sat down in restaurant and ordered battered cod & salad. Fish was tasteless and soft If I’d been blindfolded I would never had been able to detect it was cod. The salad included had sliced tomatoes that were verging on almost unripe and firm, not...ripe and appetising particularly at this time of the year when they are generally at their best. Very poor and Incredible overpriced. Never again. NOT RECOMMENDEDMore

We eat from here on delivery but passing through hatch end we decided to sit in for lunch. Great lunchtime menu - everything cooked fresh and piping hot, no grease at all on batter or chips Prices have risen a fair bit and portions have...become smaller but everyone is being affected and I’d rather pay for quality than pay less and have a plate of batter with no actual fish inside! We’ve been coming here for years and have never disliked anything other than the pies which are microwaved Our son didn’t feel well when his food was brought and they happily boxed it up to take away with us Will continue supporting local independently owned businesses provided the portions don’t reduce in size any further! They also do an amazing house dressing on their salads but often forget to pack it on deliveries which is disappointing as it’s so yummy!More

we have been going there for the last few years but last Friday was a Huge dissapointment, I ordered steak & Kidney pie and chips and my wife had the fish. The pie looked and tasted like it was put in the microwave for a...minute and slapped on a plate, the wifes fish was ok, but after spending £50 for the meal it was very, very, bad. I am so supprised the owner who we have met a few times has let standerds drop so much. I told my friends who also use the place and advised them of the low standerds they now have, will not be going there againMore

We met friends here on a Monday for lunch, we ate off of the lunch time menu, the fish was cooked to perfection, and plenty chips. The price has gone up £3 a head, we understand why but this has made it too expensive for...OAPs to have a nice lunch anymore. Shame because we loved meeting up hereMore

Fabulous early dinner last night. 10 out of 10. As always, the service was welcoming and friendly and all the salads and sides were sparklingly fresh . But the fish and chips ,which are always great, were tonight just perfect. Wonderful meal and perhaps 6:30...dining is the way to go !More
