What extremely polite and welcoming staff. The service was very quick and the food was good, we called Monday lunchtime and had the pie and the lamb casserole followed by ginger sponge pudding, the food was delicious and the portions are generous. We will definitely go back to this pub cannot fault anything excellent service and professional very friendly staff.

Our group of walkers had lunch here today. The food was very good but what particularly impressed me was the welcome and outstanding customer care from the young man at the bar. He couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. What a great ambassador for the pub.

We called in for lunch after an exhausting nearby walk! We were greeted by very friendly staff and a lovely open fire. We ordered three ciabattas- two sausage and onion and one goat's cheese and beetroot pickle. They arrived in good time and came with chips and salad. They were all absolutely lovely and very filling. The staff were really... More

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch with my wife. Used trip advisor to help choose and the recommendations didn't disappoint. Great welcome, nice food and fair price. Would definitely return

11 of us arrived unannounced late on a Sunday lunch time (as the previous pub we had gone into hadn't wanted to know). One of us had been there a couple of weeks earlier and was singing the praises of the Devonshire Arms and its staff. Our experience matched hers. The landlord could not have been more accommodating and friendly.... More

Party of 8 went for birthday meal and nothing was too much trouble. The main courses all looked so good that we ordered different ones, each served with lovely selection of vegetables, and shared. We also took in a birthday cake and were provided with plates. A really good warm friendly atmosphere with extremely helpful staff. We will certainly be... More

This is the 2nd time we have visited, the last was 2 years ago. Excellent service and food. Recommend booking in busy times as we visited during the week and it was still busy then. Good selection of food and the staff were very welcoming

We visited this pub with friends and the staff were very welcoming, so we also booked for a meal and really enjoyed it. I would recommend it to you for a meal or just a drink.

Four of us ate here on the Bank Holiday Monday lunch time after New Year. Very busy, the owner very happily reserved us a table in the restaurant while we changed our boots. ( We usually eat in the cosy lounge ). We had the homemade steak & mushroom pie and the beef sandwich's, all arrived very soon All enjoyed... More
